Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Posted Aug 16, 2005
I have decided to reveal my ignorance and ask what a samovar is.

I imagine that the Atelier samovar looks something like this:

It's a fancier variety of one might say...

I'll have to wait til I get home to look at the picture, but thanks for clearing that up... for some reason I thought it was a type of conservatory.

Where did that express train come from? I just went to a reception ( and ), leaving a nice calm 7DXth thread - and now this....?

Only now having read our non-scribing hosts very nice summary, precise to the core also on olives , I must confess one thing - never having been to a meet with the UKians, I did not realise that B and Z are both lovely structures....
*ducks*
PS Ooohhh, an ambassadorial posse *starts dusting off the dinner jacket*

I'm sure they are both brilliantly constructed.
Will Friday be ok with everyone as the date for creating our Ambassadorship?

To be honest I would think that strange range between cocktail and meeting the Prince of Wales. You might know what I mean, I can't for the life of me think what it might be called.
That is one *fancy* there!!

Well it needs to be able to soak up a lot of moisture, from tongue either from the drooling at what everybodys wearing and licking hand and other body parts,

about earthworms...it's not a case of them drying up. They're air breathers, and when it rains, their little burrowing holes get filled up with water, thus they move to the surface. But they have to keep moving because otherwise they'll drown.
Thank you, Mrs. Habbeck, my bio teacher!

What about Thursday, then? It will depend on Hypatia's schedule most of all.
You will be the ambassadorial posse/legation of the Atelier (therefore no moisture-proofing will be needed). You will be looked upon by royalty. I hope that will help you all in your sartorial decisions!

I am astonished at receiving an Atelier ambassadorship. But I suppose it was bound to happen someday as I do bear a marked resemblance to Benjamin Franklin.
Irish coffee tastes wonderful in a FTTF mug. I didn't think I'd ever get one. WooHoo! Only took 3 years.

That is quite a fancy teapot. Neither short nor stout. As for what to where to the appointing of an Ambassador, you should where your best but it should not outshine what the Ambassador-to-be is wearing. Hypatia, since we have such an... eccentric... group, you may want to consider *really* livening up whatever it is you are planning on wearing.

As to the date and time of the investiture - if you could schedule it while I'm awake, it would be helpful.
Thursday or Friday either one is ok.
*wanders off wondering what her mission will be*
