Thanks, Lil! Please stay safe -- I know that the AZ fire is now in parts of NM and CO...and it's been devilishly windy this week.

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Jun 18, 2011
Rain yesterday, which cleared the air nicely. At 6 am today, +11ºC/52ºF which is quite normal for a Swedish summer.
I'm actually much more comfortable with 'traditional' Swedish summer temperatures (unless it rains every day for days on end, which would be 'traditional' too) rather than the rather tropical heatwaves that we've had. Most recently, a week in May this year, but also last summer and the summer before that.
When it doesn't even cool off during the night - that's just not normal for this neck of the woods.
On the other hand, most of the Swedish will be ripe just in time for Midsummer. Mostly they won't be ripe until July but, since demand is especially high for Midsummer, Sweden has often had to import them. Not this year though.
On the other hand, we might have to start importing them in July
We either eat them with vanilla icecream and whipped cream or - which is *very* common for Midsummer - make a cake:
Bah, when googling for a recipe in English, those were sorry excuses for strawberry cakes.
Firstly, it should be covered with so many strawberries that you can hardly see the cake. Like this :

Layers (whether you bake them yourself or just buy ready-made doesn't really matter), custard filling alternating with strawberry jam, cover it in whipped cream smoothed down, decorate with fresh strawberries.

I bet that was somebody mentioning ironing whilst not having reached a mature age. Just think when noohootoo arrives we will be able to discuss such adult themes unfetered by the shackles of the filther. It will be a heady experience.

Experiment: I'd only drink strawberry coke if there were a lot of cheap rum available.

I'm wondering if it was the picture link - but I took care to only link to the actual picture rather than the site itself (which is in Swedish, I guess that's what caused the alert) *sighs*

Can I have a backlog excemption pass please? There's 1225 unread posts, and I've missed you so much. I'll do that a little later I hope...
I've had a blue time, with too much volunteer jobs, and bumpy stuff at work. Things are resolved now, but I'm still trying to lie low and not do too many thing.

Strawberry cake sounds good. We're getting lots of strawberries from the alotment at the moment and need some ideas for what to do with them. Not that fresh ripe strawberries with ice cream isn't good.

Breaking news in the city of Trenton, Ontario, ... Home of the Canadian Air Force.
Having chickens as pets and fresh egg source are now fully allowed. So long as any enclosures are atleast 9 metres from habitable structures.
How-ever, the ban on exotic pets such as armadillos, emu, ferrets and elephants remains.
Dang ... I did want a couple of armadillos around to amuse the

Nick, armadillos aren't much fun. Now ferrets, on the other hand, would keep Shadow and Molly properly amused.
Ti, that strawberry cake looks absolutely decadent.
Milla, it's nice to have you back.
