Lil, it's very good to hear your foot is OK. That must have been a frightening moment of vulnerabilty. Hurrah for cordless phones and good landladies.
My weekend had a lot of musical fun in it. First, a festival of mostly Irish bands in London on Saturday. Followed by me conquering my shyness and joining a mass ukulele busking event on Sunday, with a hundred or more of us uke players strumming along and singing to the somewhat bemused shoppers of Cheltenham.

Hyp, Tom has said several times over the years that he'd like to drive around the US, so non-passport travel could happen sometime when there's actual time. Especially now that we've use of a 5th-wheel trailer. Especially now that we've use of a 5th-wheel trailer. (We already had a Ford F250--just need to get a 5th wheel hitch). Of course, for a trip *that* long, Tom would want a bit of practice towing first--which is why we won't be taking the trailer when we go up to the Salem area next month for the celebration of Grandpa Hopper's life that the family is having on what would've been his 86th birthday. Nearly 300 miles for a first trip towing anything ever is a bit too long, darn it.

Lil, good that you have already developed the habit of having the phone to hand. Hope the foot isn't too sore.
t'Other began potty training on thursday (14 changes), got better on friday, just one accident on saturday and sunday, went to nursery today in pants and no mummy to encourage him, and came home in the same trousers he went in 
Considering t'boy was 3 1/2 and had months of trying to get dry, I wasn't expecting things to go quite this well!

Sounds fun about the ukulele-busking, Metal Chicken.
Yay for cordless phones and potty training. My youngest just turned 22 - and in nine days my grandchild will be 9 years. My, the years run fast.
My oldest daughter has invited me for a dinner at a very nice restaurant this evening. It is a thank you for collecting a speaker from an airport quite far away. He is a post doc from Cork, Eire, specializing in what is *not* said about a philosopher, I've forgotten the name of, in James Joyce's Ulysses.
I might have written this before...but wait for it 
...when we were driving toward the university where my daughter teaches, I heard myself say - it is almost 40 years since I left Dublin to become a famous folk musician in London....
And two days ago I met up with twelve of my former high school class mates to celebrate the 40th anniversary of graduating. I spent three weeks hunting them down and it was so good to see them again.
