At short notice I am doing a presentation on a case of meningitis caused by strep pneumonae,

I am wondering if it's excessive to spend £10 on a large stuffed version of strep pneumonea, and next day delivery. (From Giant microbes.com).

There's nothing worrying about Strep pneumonea, as long as you have Ceftriaxone 2g Iv for a week, dexamethasone 8mg every 8hours IV for 4 days, and an ITU unit on hand if things get worse.

Oh and some Rifampicin if you think it was acquired outside of Europe.

I should get a neurone for my desk when I am starting my PhD!

Just learned that it is unlikely that I will be paid to leave in the forseeable future.

In theory it means I can take my time to find the perfect job in Embra or Glasgow while spinning my wheels at t'Bank, but it also means I won't be able to take time off to move house and do my dissertation.

I shall have to think this one through.
