Hope Mr T is recovering well
at Ag's take on PR's Scotland.
Had a nice day at work, drank many, many hot cups of tea. Did a Legs, Bums and Tums class at lunchtime and fully expect not to be able to bend tomorrow.
It is that time of year again - I have to go and tackle The Heap in order to find all the relevent bits of paper for my tax return.

"the Haitian slave rebellion (the only successful slave rebellion ever)"
1831: Slave revolt in Jamaica
1833: Emancipation Act passed by Parliament
That seems fairly successful to me.

Pat Robertson is also heavily invested in and owns some of Liberia's diamond mines. He's a personal friend of dictator Charles Taylor.
He's an odious individual all around.

Robertson was the guy who, commenting on 9/11, blamed lesbians and witches. Yeah. Real piece of work, that man.
And the Jamaican slave revolt in 1831 lasted all of 10 days, and was put down rather easily, although quite brutally, by the plantation owners' forces. The violence gave the abolitionists something to work with, but the constitution actually didn't do much for the slaves. in fact, it wasn't until 1838 that the slaves on Jamaica were actually freed.
Sorry, just being the historian again...

I had spent a few hours on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning getting back online, and I really *wanted* to smash the computer. This is a computer that is very new to me (about 2 months!). THEN it went out again, and eventually, I got back on again, and left the above message.
THEN it went out *again*, and I just got back on a little bit ago. And this is modern technology?? Sheesh.

Teuchter, I hope all continues to go well -- good vibes heading your way -- now! I'm hoping that Mr T.is up and about good as new, soon.
Pat Robertson is proof that God is a loving God, because He hasn't turned him into a grease spot -- yet.

Morning all. Home with bad cold today, don't come too close. Matina, a hot chocolate with a generous splash of whisky in it, please.

Oh dear. That sounds like a VERY bad shift, Z.
I have what looks like raindrops on my kitchen window, though there's still lots of outside.
