Kelli, I'm glad things worked out. Sorry about your nasty weather, though.
Lentilla, your tomato soup sounds wonderful.
The tipi was duly ordered along with some of the backrest seats to go inside. The kids are going to love this. My lead on the sarcophagus didn't pan out, but I may have another one. Also, I've lined up a really excellent musical group to do Civil War music for that exhibit. Now I'm looking for a mariachi band. Oh! I found a 1932 movie poster of "The Mummy". 'Tis

I didn't know you live in Belfast, Bea! Now I know you have a wonderful accent to go with it.
Prof, I'll post to your space about the mobility thing. Everyone else here has heard more than enough about my health problems.
And now off to do some scanning. Someone bought the family homestead back east who really loves the old place and wants to collect its history. It dates back to 1840, and was continuously occupied by my step-father's family until the early 1970's. So I've dug through all my photo archive and found pictures of the place going back to the 50's as well as one showing the old place in the very early 1900's, before it burned in 1912. The house was stuccoed after that, but the new owner has pulled all that off and restored the original stone. I hope he'll send me a picture.

There's this funny wet stuff falling from the sky here. Not white, mind you. Sort ofÉclear. And a bit dampish. What's it called again? Rain? Huh. Very interesting.
Just an asideÉMarv is currently playing 'but I *am* that person* with the PTB, so he may not be posting for a bit.
Bea, that apartment sounds divine. I'm looking at mine and thinking I really need to get out of it soon. Biggest problem I have? Gotta move out the end of June, but I'm slated to teach a class here through the first week of August. I'm hoping someone will let me couch surf.

Being locked out of your account really sucks. That's one of the reasons I ended up with three accounts in the name of Ben.
I'm tired enough this evening to steal an early night. Naughty of me, but such a pleasure.

Early night, Ben? I prefer a late morning.

Getting enough sleep is a problem for many of us it seems. Late mornings are impossible for me and early nights almost as difficult. *sighs*

I am rather fond of the mid-afternoon lie down. But I have a flexible schedule.

Third day in a row with mist, and the fine lace has turned into something that looks rather fuzzy. Everything is bright white (the frost has settled on almost everything) and when I got home tonight, the trees stood out sharply against the grafite sky. Lovely. I've missed having a *real* winter for the last few years.
Matina, a hot chocolate with marshmallows and a drop of rum, please

A real winter at the right time of the year, that is. Previous two years, we didn't get any 'proper' winter until March, which is when you expet to see snow starting to melt and snowdrops popping up.

It's foggy and mild and drippy here today. The snow is rapidly melting into the mud, making everything a mess. Blech.

Lil, you'll be able to hear my Belfast accent, lovely or otherwise, on the Front Page next week, as a Guide Entry I wrote on Yellow Mountain was also AViated by me(ie there's some audio-visual content: video footage and narration by me, background music by a certain 2legs of this parish)
Weather's back to cold and rainy here, but we're used to that round these 'ere parts!

minichessemouse - Ahoy there me barnacle! Posted Jan 13, 2010
The snow in Dundee is all gone, some ice still about I think although I haven't actually ventured outside today.
Tomorrow I get to find out what they did with the blood the took just before the new year and if they found out why I have been so since before Christmas (my money is on me being anaemic)
Is it wrong that I am sort of looking forward to having the routine that uni gives me back next week even though it means S and I get to spend less time together?
