*Pierrot flys in the window and through to the kitchen. The breadbox latch rattles and shortly afterwards Pierrot flys out with a mbougatse. He flys out to the veranda and perches on the rail, near Violet's half-barrel. Violet lunges at Pierrot, but Pierrot has calculated the distance accurately and is just out of her reach. Her momentum, however, shifts the barrel slightly on it's castors. Noticing this, she makes several fake lunges and moves the barrel within range. She winds up and lunges at Pierrot. Mid-lunge, GL comes out on the veranda, trips over the threshold and catapults his tea over the railing. Pierrot jumps up, squaking, and Violet's jaws snap shut on the empty space where Pierrot was perched moments before. For a moment, the tableau if frozen, with GL sprawled on the deck, Pierrot fluttering in mid-air and Violet swaying in her barrel. Then, Violet glares at GL, crosses her leaves and turns away. GL picks himself up. looks over the rail at the miraculously unbroken tea cup below and rushes out to go get it. Pierrot looks at Violet with new found respect.*
