I'm almost done with professor #2's reviews. If only I didn't have an emergency AGS meeting tonight, I'd be golden.
I'm plum tuckered, I tell you.

I'm doing music theory and have got stuck at Primary triads and chords.
They are formed on the tonic, the subdom and the dom. Why? Why aren't they just different things? Who cares? What does it mean for me when I'm writing music? Why don't they tell you these things!?

Aaaaargh!
We've just had 20 minutes of hayhem because 18yr old son couldn't find his wallet and doesn't remember seeing it since yesterday.
It could have been misplaced at the gym or at the garden centre cafe where I dragged him yesterday so he could lift heavy compost for me.
I advised him to phone and report his credit card missing - yup, the one I didn't want him to have since he only works one day per week. He doesn't know where the company's phone number is - because he ignored my advice to keep all his important papers together in a labelled folder.
He was sent to his room to search for both wallet and papers - taking with him a torch - since he hasn't replaced the lightbulb which went 'phut' last week.
Now, this is a room where the floor isn't visible, even in broad daylight, but he has just appeared with wallet in hand - it was in a different pair of trousers than the pair he thought he'd been wearing yesterday.
He says his wallet often falls out of his pocket - and it's the trousers fault. It was also my fault for making him go to the gym and garden centre and making him lose his wallet.
Aaaaaarg!

Marv doesn't like doctors, at least he's not getting a tetanus booster tomorrow.

Minerva update. She has learned how to click the mouse. It's downright inconvenient. It was bad enough when she just typed. And she steals my pens! Honestly, I think she was a clerk/typist in her last life.
Did I mention that I had a snake in my bathroom when I got home the other evening? One of the cats brought it in through the cat flap. Probably Molly. Sigh.

> Surely the solution to grubby keyboards is getting one of them rubber ones? I'd imagine they're easier to wipe clean...
Yeah, you'd think so, but a rubber keyboard to a real keyboard is like American cheese versus a really sharp cheddar. Just doesn't do it for me. The best thing to do is take your keyboard, turn it upside down, and give it a really good shake about once a day. Vacuum the floor afterwards, of course. I've also taken the vacuum cleaner after it. When we had a cat, I'd vacuum the cat - it cut down on the potential hair in the house.
There's something about those optical mice that really show dirt. The shiny surface picks up grease and skin flakes, so it starts looking lumpy and gritty right away. Then there's all these cracks in the casing that collect crud. Doesn't make any sense. But then again, why would they design a linoleum for the kitchen with small holes perfect for filling up with yuck?
Marv, sounds like your new environs are hazardous to your health! Where are you right now - New Joisey, right?
> I'm doing music theory and have got stuck at Primary triads and chords.
Ah, that's where I always fell down and bashed my shin. I got the modes idea just fine, and I have no problem understanding how the scales and steps and half-steps work. But when you start talking about C minor 7, then I get confused. I've got the bit figured out where it's in the key of C, but the scale starts at D, and then the 7th is flatted, which makes it a dominant 7... But I have to think about this, and it's not at all a natural thing for me. I wouldn't even know that much if I wasn't married to a musician.

Do you folks remember the blue velveteen Nikes with bright orange stripes they used to sell at Walmart in the late 70's? I had a pair - problem with the blue Nikes was that everybody knew where they came from, so the prestige of having a pair of Nikes was ruined by the knowledge that they came from icky Walmart.

I'll be in Joisey for a layover for around 45 minutes in a month. I am flying back to RDU from SLC through Newark.
The doctor gave me some nasal spray and prescription allergy meds, but he also says that half of my problem with a stuffy head is.....
Acid Reflux.
What? I don't get it myself. But I am having blood drawn tomorrow (did I mention that I hate doctors?) to check for something to do with allergies. And sometime soon I have to schedule a bloody CT scan. ARGH. I can't stand being in those electric coffins. The only thing worse than CT scans are bleeding MRIs. Guh. I hate tight enclosed spaces. And they can't just stick my leg in like a lot of people get to do. Oh no. They have to stick my HEAD in it.
I have had an irrational fear of CT scans since I was a child and had to have one for my chronic migraines. It's been years since I had a dibilitating one, but I used to get them constantly.
Have I mentioned that I hate doctors?
No offence Z, but I can't stand the medical profession.

Actually, Marv, I get a stuffy nose if I've had too much sugar, so who knows?
I'm a little annoyed at an old friend, because he's being a dork, and I don't really have the time to confront him on such a silly issue (he claims that on the last night of the pub, I spent 2 hours making out with a woman I know, which is simply not true).
Argh.

I don't know, LTP. He's not making an ass out of himself, not quite. Which is why I've given him dork status.
