Ben, what a pain! How do feel about the idea of becoming *hushes voice* a permie?
Penny Whistle hasn't been around hootoo for over a week, but she often vanishes for short periods. She mentioned that she had caught up with the scribing earlier in the thread - somewhere around post 1500 so I'm sure she'll be back soon. Perhaps we should try not to talk too much again

Or take a little bit more lemonade in our pimms ,or mint julips depending which side of the pond you are ,since we have a scribe why not make this a 10,000,000 post thread,

I figured out once how many posts there were in the salon proper. I would do it again, but it took a rather long time to compile that data.

Shoes / footwear are an interesting thing, but I am rather lost as to the Imelda Marcos like fascination (fixation?) with the little tinkers, and really cant get my head around erotic connotations of the humble foot / footwear. A means of transport and an ability to stand upright in increasing wind-strength notwithstanding the challenge of shining toe-caps to the point of utility as a shaving mirror must necessitiate a very obscure Freudian linkage to become objects of desire. Or am I just refealing my deep instituionalisation?? Returns Amys very smart Mandibular salute.

For now, I don't mind the scribe being missing, it means I am still in the running for FTTF. Tomorrow morning will be a different story as i have a doctor appointment.

It'll probably take the over-shoed section of the Atelier until at least tomorrow morning to find their running shoes.

I'll admit I have a shoe fetish--but it's for good quality footwear, not feet as sexual objects.

Good luck Marv.
I do not have a shoe fetish. I just like shoes. I am not sexually aroused by them. And women need different shoes for different occassions. I have business suits, dressy clothes, casual clothes, garnening clothes, shopping clothes and lounging around on the patio clothes. Winter clothes, summer clothes. It takes lots of shoes to coordinate with all that.

Hyp,
I tried to re-open Jazz and Hyp but you don't seem to have received it. Also there's an email for you.
sorry to intrude on this thread

I'm back. I remembered I have somethng else to say about shoes. I have trouble buying pretty sandals because my instep is very high and most of the time the straps are too short. Another thing I inherited from my father. Along with no neck, bushy eyebrows and thin, stringy hair of a somewhat indistinct color. Oh, and chronic indigestion. That's his fault as well.

i never answered the shoes thing.
right now i have 2 pairs of the following shoes, one in a dark chocolate brown, the other in a slightly lighter brown:
http://www.landsend.com/cd/fp/prod/0,,1_2_1931_55288_108297_86744_5%3Aview=253,00.html?CM_MERCH=PAGE_55288&sid=4109133143773138080
(i hope that doesn't stretch >.<
i am a bit perturbed that they aren't called all weather moccasins anymore. perhaps this is the summer name for them?
i also own a pair of nike clogs, though i like to think of them as outdoors slippers. i put them on whenever i slip outside to get the mail, walk the dog, etc.
and of course pumas. i always have two pairs. an everyday pair and a backup (for when i need a clean pair or for when i need to replace a pair). the only problem is that they change the name of the sneakers every damned year, and they also do weird-ass things like change the colors on whim, only supply certain sizes, change tongue design, change sole design. aargh. currently they're called liga suede. over the years they've been called clyde suede, classic sueded and basketball suede:
http://store.puma.com/pumaUSStore/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=PumaUS&category%5Fname=MensFootwear&product%5Fid=34146601&productType=Footwear&mainCategory=Men&shopBy=style&siteid=1
i currently have a black courderoy pair i bought at the puma store in vegas, as well as the above version in blue (yes, i have blue suede shoes) with a white sole. this is why my corderoy pair looks like:

they're discontinued, sadly. i used to have a nike pair but those got worn rather quickly. all that shoddy child labor
i also have a pair of orange pumas that i wear on occasion. they bleed so it isn't very often. i love them dearly.
anyway, i hope those links didn't break any rules. i'm not sure what the linking policy is nowadays, but you just go ahead and show me a website devoted to information about the above shoes without trying to sell them, and i'll link to it.

Shaving is not something I have to worry about. The occassional trim is all I need.

Perhaps the company that markets them also market plasters, I really think you should start a campaign to have a goverment health warning on them , or a selection of little plasters with every box, mind you you can always use those little stero strips, if they do always nick you, specialy don't want open wounds in hospitals these days ,with those caped superbugs zapping about.
