Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.") Posted Apr 12, 2005
The solution to that is to open it under the towel.

So good to see you safely back.
A Happy Belated Birthday, Ben
I have had to remonstrate strongly with Cassie, she caught a Red Admiral yesterday, a rapidly disappearing flavour...er..variety of butterfly.

It seems Dusty Millers go under a lot of different names; in the UK - we'd call them Cineraria maritima.
I like them because they seem to be able to reflect even the tiniest bit of moonlight and give the garden a beautifully eerie atmosphere at night.
My tickets for the Hampton Court Flower Show came yesterday. I'll be going with my Mum which is a good thing since she'll discourage me from spending any money. My friend Linda led me astray last time and I came home with a large glass vase with a glass frog climbing up its side. It's a piece of art rather than something to stick flowers in and I've never dared tell Mr T how much it cost.
The artist who made it, Iestyn Davis, does stuff for Elton John's garden and makes some beautiful fish sculptures in glass.
Was it Marv who mentioned grotty keyboards? Ours is disgusting, thanks to G's habit of eating over it. We're now at the stage where some of the keys won't depress sufficiently to register the letter until I've picked the thing up and given it a good shake to redistribute the crumbs.

I have a horrible keyboard as well, for the same reason.
Better get on with doing things this morning. I have a woman from the letting agency coming round to check that the flat is in one peice. It's fairly tidy, but I need to do a bit more on it. Then I've got to go into my new placement for one.
None of you needed to know that did you?

Darn keyboard, couldn't get the p to show up unless I go off and fetch a miniature mallet to wallop it with. So I gave it a good shake and now I can't get the - to show up unless tiny mallet etc. I try (unsuccesfully) not to eat over it - it's amazing how often you and your toast fetch up over the keyboard even when you're not touching the 'puter and just wan tto find that interesting post-it note you stuck to the screen yesterday...
But I'm not so bad. At one job I once did the keyboard I fetched up with had strange sticky brown stuff on it and once you pressed a key it stayed pressed and you got a line of hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh across the page. I was too shy to complain until day two, and then the manager said airily 'Oh, we always give that keyboard to temps, they always spill coffee on it,' and I was forced to point out at length that I never drink coffee at the desk and most certainly never drink coffee with milk and sugar in it and anyway if they want there to be a point to my existance I need a new keyboard. So he got one out of a cupboard that was so worn you had to know touch-typing as all the letters had vanished. I can sort of touch-type and could find the letters by trial and error but I was not... happy...
I'm definitely rambling again, aren't I? Please ignore.
Hello PWM, nice to meet you.
Homeopathic arnica. Best thing to use on amputated toes. My aunt's vet swears by it.

Welcome back PWM!
Surely the solution to grubby keyboards is getting one of them rubber ones? I'd imagine they're easier to wipe clean...
In one of the pavilions at the World Expo in Aichi (Japan) there's a new movie system, where you (or your face, rather) can be one of the actors in the film!

It seems that the decendants(sp?) to Attila the Hun want to be recognized as an ethnic minority - I had no idea huns actually still existed!

ooh - Kelli, exciting! I remember my first acceptance letter, I got all of a twitter and realised I actually was not only getting married but a whole bunch of people would come and gawp at me doing it and I'd spend an entire day being the centre of attention and in the end I got so flustered I had to be forcibly put into a warm bubble-bath with a G&T in one hand and an amusing book in the other and not allowed to get out until I was at least half-rational.
Key: Complain about this post
