I seem to be the least extravagantly shod Salonista. Two pairs of neat black shoes and two pairs of trainers - one in a blue suede style, one in shiny silver and black - are quite enough for me.

I have wide feet and am i UK size 8.
I have always found shoes difficult to buy, especially nice shoes. I have quite recently found somewhere which does nice shoes which fit. Though they are a little expensive. This has been fantastic and allowed me to buy so many shoes, though most of them are flat. I hardly own any heels. Quite unusual for my age really but hey!
Im feeling alot better now than I did earlier, though I have to take antibiotics and take my inhalor.

Two pairs of sandals.
Two pairs of clogs.
One pair of black dress shoes.
Two pairs of sneakers.
One pair of slippers.
One pair of black leather boots.
Congrats on your super new library, Hyp!

You beat me by one pair Ormondroyd - I only have 2 pairs of smarts (one brown, one black); 1 pair trainers, blue; 1 pair of sort of cross between smart and trainer; and 1 pair of running shoe (hopeless optimism winning out over common sense).
I have very difficult feet too - my last big shoe shopping trip (to replace a falling apart ones) I got three pairs each were a different size 8, 9 & 10 (UK) depending on the style - very wierd. Also, I have to have shoes which don't go pointy or flat at the toes, which is really tricky to find these days.
I also have sheepskin boots like Ag (would highly recommend them http://www.celtic-sheepskin.co.uk/) - but I don't count them as they're reserved for indoor only.

I will see all y'all's hard to fit feet and raise you my 15UK 16US 56EU sized wide feet with poor arches. I have nothing that fits well, they are all either too large or too small and nearly all of them are too narrow. I have not found anything that comes close to being a perfect fit. One of these days I will have a cobbler make me some custom fitted shoes and then I will get rid of a number of my shoes.

That was not funny the first 635 times you said it and it is still not funny.
In other news, researchers in Canuckistan have found that keyboards can harbour some nasty viri because you cannot effectively clean them.

I have one hideous keyboard at home, it makes me want to replace it.

It was Ben's birthday? I missed it? Quick, cake, socks, candles, confetti (no, that's weddings, sorry still addled, didn't actually have confetti at our wedding, had sugared almonds instead, but they sting when thrown by strong people) streamers squeakers and booze!
I love my tatty trainers so much I WISH that I'd bought three pairs (they had three different colours) - I'd be less tatty and more colour-coordinated today...
Shoes. Huh. I have narrow heels and congenital (thanks, Gran) deformed big toes, so my feet are practically diamond-shaped. Lord how I hate buying shoes. They NEVER fit. Hence obsession with ankle boots - at least I can tie my ankle in place so my heel doesn't slip about.
I went into the town centre today (had errands, as they say). I still feel absurdly self-conscious about the fact I'm wearing a wedding ring. Realised my cheque-book still says 'Miss'. Felt all silly and barely restrained self from trying to explain it to bank clerk who obviously could not possibly care less. S and I still look at each other of a morning and say 'hello, Husband', 'hello, Wife,' and then giggle hysterically for minutes. When will this pass?

I know some married couples that use endearments like that after many many years of marraige. You are stuck with it for a while.

Marv - goodness how cute. Must break myself of habit right now.
Mind you, S more or less calls me sweetheart or Ag and that's it, and I call him any of a vast and bafflingly odd range of names, starting with his own, rambling through his surname, Shakespearean endearments, weird possibly Hebrew endearments, words in Italian, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Esperanto and Ancient Greek, jokes, puns, references to Blackadder comedies and PG Wodehouse. 'Husband' is the least of his worries.

>Ag: and twizzle in reverse (elzziwt?) ... ! And you looked lovely!
and for Hyp and the library!
Shoe inventory:
2 x dress shoes; 1 quite nice - all for w**k
1 x trainers (used most in the garden & for walking )
1 x terrain/walking shoes; 1 ditto boots
1 x sandals, also sitting well enough to do outdoor/walking in - given it's warm enough
1 x clogs for going out with the garbage etc
That's it, methinks. No, it's not - there's a pair of cycling shoes, too...
And happy b'day, B!
Lastly, our is on the mend after having a "toe-rectomy" (or whatever you call amputation of a toe in proper vet-namese) Thursday last week. From somewhere, he'd got a bad infection in the toe that had attacked the bone, too.
It's not too bad an operation and doesn't harm their footing, so to speak - so he'll still be able to walk, run and jump (especially the two latter being important for a flatcoat). In fact, he wants to go running now when he comes out - but until Monday or so he'll still be on a lead to keep him from over-using the paw.
To top it all of, it seems that I'm in a fight with two insurance companies. When we changed our insurances from one to the other, the insurance on the dog was (so far we're on what each of them claims) cancelled by the one company (or not!) without having a new one put in place.
I am currently betting that the "old" company cancelled one too many of the insurances - and am working towards a compromise that says "we'll pay you the fees for the insurance from when you mistakenly cancelled it to date; in return you'll pay the vet bill"
Let's see...
