Sounds like it went off fairly well all things considered. Good choice using Farenheit 451. I hope that your reading will open at least one eye.

Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.") Posted Apr 10, 2005
I too am glad things went well. No trouble from the smellfungus, was she sick?

Montana Redhead (now with letters) Posted Apr 11, 2005
That was going to be my question...did the smellfungus behave herself, or was she still so mad over the rock garden that she declined to show?

Hyp, congrats.
Also, regarding the work release kid. If you don't feel like keeping him around, just tell the people in charge that you no longer need his services. In my book that would be better than sitting around waiting to see if more money goes missing. This will also give you an out if the money continues to go missing. You will have eliminated a potential culprit, without implicating them.
Today I had a most pleasant surprise. I was going to the mall to get a new pair of trainers, and there was an art gallery with original paintings. Very nice, the style that I like, and in the range I might be willing to pay.

Shoes-trainers, wellies, walking boots...erm...that's it.
Everyone's always telling me that I should have more shoes or at least nicer shoes or something. I disagree whole-heartedly but there we go. It's got worse now! I have new 'cute' glasses (according to opticians and Mikey) and so the race to make me all girly in time to go home appears to be on.
Glad it went well Hyp, although shame about lack of plaque. Plague no that's the thing you get with big boils...so why is plaque (metal thing) and plaque (decay stuff) spelt and said the same?
Very PLEASED to know you aren't teaching (German accent)Mathematic anymore Amy. It worries me you know although having said that this week is fake SAT paper week for me I shall report back on how I do.
I'm assuming the great mug race for the new thread will commence soon? I also have a suspection (new word from suspicion (noun) and suspect (verb)) that I'm going to get the cattle-prod Although possibly I can morph it into something like James Bond's mobile phone thing that killed the doctor in Tomorrow Never Dies. Just a thought...
Oh and congratulations Z on having cleaned...in fact congrats to everyone who has cleaned! I cleaned the kitchen today and feel good about it...although I was supposed to have done the bathroom too.

Glad the opening went well Hypatia
Yesterday was in the end spent wandering round a shopping village and then trundling back through the very nice countryside.

Look forward to seeing the photos of the Library Dedication. Did SF really behave?
Beautiful day here in Hants - I intend to spend most of it in the garden, pottering.

I too shall offer my gladness that the opening went well for Hyp.
If you lot are really lucky I'll soon be providing a link to a video of the drunken pirate dance... it'll also allow Hyp, Ben and Z to see the manky pirate outfit ahead of time.

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Apr 11, 2005
Morning all
Lots of backlog from the weekend...
Sporky, my eyes are happy to scan past your name now they know what sound should be associated with it. Wonder if my inability to ignore or scan past words I can't pronounce is down to being taught to read using phonics?
Ag - lovely pictures! Thanks for sharing them with us, everyone did indeed look very happy (unlike the crowd at the royal weding - I only caught a brief 5 minutes of it but they all looked bloody miserable).
Shoes, I don't have many that I wear, I have a greater number that I bought, wore a couple of times then discovered they were torture instruments and banned them to a cupboard. Since losing weight I have discovered that I have a far wider choice of shoe. I can contemplate quite high heels again now there is much less me bearing down on the balls of my feet. And my feet have got narrower so fit into more fashionable shoes. I need so much now in the way of clothes that I am having to avoid shoe departments to stop myself blowing my clothing budget for essentials (trousers that don't fall down, tops that don't billow in the wind, bras that actually fit) on pretty summer shoes.
Had a lovely weekend, got my day invitations finished and posted finished the wedding website, and had a visit from one of J's friends. We took them and the dogs for a walk along the thames. We met lots of other people and one chap told us that there was a pub ahead that you could take your dog (and children, and muddy boots) in to. It was great, a really friendly pub with nice standard english pub grub at a reasonable price, right on the river. So much better than all of the gastro pubs around us where children are frowned upon, let alone dogs.
Was very tempted to chuck a sickie today as it is so glorious out, but couldn't bring myself to do it in the end. Will go out for a walk at lunchtime though

Happy belated birthday to Ben!
Lovely wedding pics!
Ah – names... living in Sweden with a Finnish surname means I have to spell it out fairly often. It's not making it any easier that out of the ten letters, only four are consonants. People who manage to get it right at their first attempt (writing or pronouncing it) still impress me – most of all the British lady working for one of the translation services my company uses. Not only is she fluent in Swedish, but she also asked if she could have a go at my surname after having heard it once on the phone – and then spelt it out correctly, letter by letter! When I confirmed that she got it right, she said 'so it's true - you Finns *do* spell words exactly the way you pronounce them!'

Working tonight, so sitting around at home today.
Looking out the window, it's far too nice to spend all day indoors.
So I'll see how far the wireless network reaches

Glad the dedication went well, and I hope the library thief is stopped. I love 'Marian the Librarian' - great song from a great show - and I'm glad that Going Postal amused you!
Thanks to whoever wished us librarians a happy National Library Week. I'm from the UK, though, so probably doesn't apply to me...
Shoes - only three pairs. One pair work shows, one pair dress shoes, one pair trainers. Pairs get replaced when they start to fall apart!
