Scuse me... it's the Will Rogers Coliseum... sheesh.

I'll remember to tell my colleague who had two of them this evening
>If you've never seen an inexperienced policewoman with a rope trying to catch a horse, you haven't lived. Put me down among the never-have-lived ones...
Cowtown Coliseum sounded better, though!
Pleasant evening in Lansing. Got a guided tour round the Michigan State University (MSU) campus today. It's true what they say - everything is bigger in the US. I thought the Danish Technical University campus was rather big (or maybe I quite din't) but this thing has 45000 students and is apparently the campus in the US with most dormitory students (20-some-000)...
Blue Moon Belgian-type wheat beer isn't too bad

I see Blue Moon as beer for people who want to say they had a micro-brew, but would have preferred a Bud.
Me, I like good beer. Lentilla, see if you can find Deschutes or Big Sky Brewing. Good stuff. And yes, indeed, fg, we are currently pouring a ton of Moose Drool at the Pub. Courtesy of me begging for months.

MR, I've had Bud. A long time ago and never since! And Blue Moon's better than that.
But otoh, my family's not into wheat beers either, so I'm used to taking a beating over my liking for them.

*comes in late, and sits down to tear her boots off before doing anything else*
What made me think it would be a quiet day? We've not just had tours, we've had three school tours, and one of them was a large contingent of cadets from New Mexico Military Institute. And then regular tourists seemed to come through the door every 15 minutes.
And so I have the next conversation completely prepared and will launch first thing tomorrow, Mountain Time. For sure. Right now, for me, it's anticoffee and bed. God, how I hate the spring time change.

Santra, if you're ever in the OC, I'll buy you wheat beers galore!
I still maintain that Blue Moon isn't that great. I'd rather have a Craftsman Heavenly Hefe (and I don't care for hefes), or an Abita Purple Haze, or a Lost Coast Great White...

Mornin All
The storms have passed on and it's still for a change. Watery grey and yellow dawn that promises showers.

I read, write and think in English every day thanks to h2g2 and WoW, but I can still spell Swedish correctly.
So how is it that Swedes who use English a lot less insist on spelling Swedish in the English way?
Examples: e-mails starting with Hej, (Hi) when it should be Hej! Before the internet, snail mail greetings were always followed by an exclamation mark, *not* a comma!
And genitive - there are no genitive apostrophes in the Swedish language! For heaven's sake, why do many Swedes insist on writing Sverige's (Sweden's) when it should be Sveriges? Or, when it comes to abbreviations, HK's (HQ's) instead of HK:s?
Bah! Lazy so-and-sos!

MR, I'll gladly take you up on that And yes, I'd also rather have a dark Franziskaner Hefe than a Blue Moon, to be honest.
Mmmmm, beer talk at 6:50 in the morning...
Ti, it sneaks into Denmark as well. Stores have, literally, 'sale' instead of 'udsalg' etc.

dElaphant (and Zeppo his dog (and Gummo, Zeppos dog)) - Left my apostrophes at the BBC Posted Mar 13, 2008
Santra, I think your clock is off by an hour, unless you're not where I think you are.
"you *want* to be able to have a poodle so you *decide* not to have an alllergic reaction to it"
But that completely ignores the fact that poodles don't have the dog's usual undercoat of hair, so shed far, far less than other dogs. Technically people are still allergic to poodles, but since there's less hair floating around it doesn't affect them so much.
/* Laces up his rollerskates, harnesses up Zeppo and Gummo
, attaches the leashes and gets ready to shout "MUSH!" */

Hmmm d'E - it's about 8 now in Lansing, MI so I don't think I'm off (though I am sleepy enough to feel a bit that way)

I *love* Abita Purple Haze. Trouble is that it's not available behind the Zion Curtain.
