David, I don't know why you got up so early. Then again, I'm not sure why my eyes popped open only 8 minutes after my alarm clock *did not* go off!

No, it's just that I read the 'instructions' and felt fairly certan that one day I'd fall short of standards. Random silliness I can perform to perfection, but anyway, it was really a bit of downhearted whatever, so please ignore. Just shout if I offend. I'll try very hard!!

Monty, upon what do you dissert? Is it very private, or does eveybody else know? You see? I can so easily move my foot from keyboard to mouth.

Fareverywell, each.

Yeah, you know...other than Monty Python (whom I love) the only image I get of "monty" is an old guy yelling at people to get off his lawn...

Anywho...I'm dissertating on the subject of inquisitor's manuals in the 13th and 14th century and how the church, through the function of the inquisition, trys to create a disciplinary society. Which complicates our understanding of when societies moved from outward forms of social correction (i.e., hanging, etc) to inward forms (such as prison and rehab). I'm basically trying to prove Foucault wrong.

Unwellness seems to be flooding the internets - I feel like cr*p myself today, got sent home by my manager for being alarmingly pale on duty.

*sigh*

This afternoon is being spent on what used to be called "Legal Ethics." Enough people have pointed out that "legal ethics" is oxymoronic that it is now referred to as "Professional Conduct."

Somebody sent this to me, so I had to share...

Hokey Pokey as written by William Shakespeare

O proud left foot, that ventures quick within'
Then soon upon a backward journey lithe.
Anon, once more the gesture, then begin:
Command sinistral pedestal to writhe.
Commence thou then the fervid Hokey-Poke,
A mad gyration, hips in wanton swirl
To spin! A wilde release from Heavens yoke.
Blessed dervish! Surely canst thou go, girl.
The Hoke, the poke -- banish now thy doubt
Verily, I say, 'tis what it's all about.

Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.")

Got my new bowling ball today, rolled 2 games with a 35 pin improvement over my average. I will have to see if that holds up in actual league games.

Is it a magic bowling ball? smiley - magic

I've just been informed that our company is outsourcing much of its production work to India. India! Sheesh. Fortunately my position is safe for now, but what it sounds like to me is I'm going to be building a lot more spec ads - just so the sales reps won't have to call India to get their jobs done.

Tempting providence but I seem to be in the rudest of rudes at the moment, hears a distance rumbling as lurges cast around for for those in a state of hubris.

Great Hokey Pokey text, Lentilla!smiley - laugh

*shakes fist at weather gods for not looking after their kids better since one of them obviously has found the button for 'winter' and is playing with it, flicking it on and off and on and off on a daily basis*

Yesterday: clear skies and so cold that when I tried to solve a crossword while waiting for the bus home the ink in my smiley - biro wouldn't flow.

This morning: clouded skies, everything covered by a layer of snos - that has already started melting.

For me, the word 'Monty' immediately triggers an image of Mounties singing that lumberjack song!

Monty. Would that be Monty, 1st Viscount Montgomery of Alamein, hawk eyed and chiseled jaw with two badges on his beret or Monty Panasar, left handed spin bowler playing international cricket for England.
