No, but I have seen my car. I went to go get the things I didn't want disappearing from it. Here's the damage I saw: The hood, radiator, front bumper, and lights all have to be replaced. I saw no visible damage to the engine we'll see what the adjuster says. I spoke with her today, she was supposed to be going to look at the car sometime today.

Unless you slammed into the other car at 90MPH+ I rather doubt it's possible to do real damage to the motor. Cars are designed to take a hit and then be able to be repaired. I've seen cars involved in fatal accidents that were completely salvaged.

I'm superstitious. I wouldn't want to own a car that had previously been involved in a fatal accident.

Preliminary estimate of damage is $4800, they will total it at $5775 which is 75% of the value of the car. The adjuster didn't say what all of the damage was. As soon as I hear back from my Pastor with the name of a shop one of the members co-owns, I will be having the car towed there for the actual estimate.

DD - I like to think of him as Robert de Brus - that's what the family was called near where I grew up (most of them were called Robert as well), and I think he was only four generations from being a tyke.
Well, new housemate has finally moved in. He was very apologetic about leaving us sans internet access (I think I posted here about it - we had to get the landlord to let us into his room to turn the router back on at the wall). Anyway, I was practising on the electric keyboard, and apparently he plays guitar (lead and bass), but he's only got a flute with him now, which he can't play. Il est Français, so there was a certain amout of "how you say, 'violin'?"

STRANGELY STRANGE ( A brain on a spring ) Posted Oct 29, 2007
Ltp, the white noise was to cancel out tinitus I think, which I have.
As I mentioned before if all this works it will only be downstairs who are better for noise nuisance. Upstairs I will see about when he has finished DIY and fitted wooden floor although the only solution maybe to nag him until he does something if he is still noisey. I would hope he would wear softer shoes to protect his laminate floor but who knows as someone who hoovers at 3am might do strange things.
.
I saw what I think is a Marsh or Willow Tit in garden earlier. I say think as both look more or less identical, however both are on my Common Garden Birds DVD so could be either, still nice to see a bird I have not seen before..

I.... have actually finished.... my first essay.
Before midnight on the eve of the due date! That has to be some kind of record for me. S is so proud. He was truly expecting to go to bed at one am and get up again at seven and and find me still at the table, weeping and banging my head on the keyboard. As it is, I not only finished it by 11:30, I even took an hour out to watch Mastermind and University Challenge and eat dinner.
Strange, how adult-hood variously manifests itself.
I am not going to re-read it again before I hand it in. I will only spot something gigantically unfixable and ruin this nice warm glow I am currently basking in.

Wow... Okay, so you finished it by 11:30 pm, but that's still better than my usual 2 am.
Favorite movie? Don't have a specific favorite movie, but I have lots of old friends that I pull out and look at on a dull day. The Mad Max movies are good for that, and Yellowbeard, and Max Headroom. Holy Grail I know backwards and forwards, and still yank it out for a laugh every now and again. Evil Dead 2 and 3 get regular play in our house. Life of Brian is a great movie, but unfortunately I'm always too tired to watch it all the way through. Alien, Aliens, and Predator Vs. Alien... Predator 1 and 2... I could go on! And of course all the Star Trek and Star Wars stuff.
Basically, I like movies with robots or aliens. Preferably robot aliens in space with bad attitudes.

Favourite film? .... *panics* Later, I'm afraid!
A quick hello from the Nodnol ExCel exhibition center - actually from the company booth where I am absolutely not supposed to be doing this!
Will in all likelihood see Ag later today

Ag, it's a good feeling, indeed.
I got 9 hours of sleep last night. Nine. D is still sleeping. Both of us have had a heck of a time going to bed, and sleeping, so we decided to take today and sleep in.

Well - they do send me all around you. don't they? Chicago last week and probably San Francisco in December... (reminder to myself: check if there are any bigger dairies the the general vicinity of Webb City that might "merit" a visit... )
Good tradeshow, many visitors
