We've only got an organic red leicester in the fridge cheese wise, bought from a farmers market the week before last. Must get up to the producers market in town as it's currently the food and drink festival.
Kelli, well done on getting the allotment. Remember you don't have to cultivate it all in one go.
And even Eatsmice has popped by what a good sight that was.

I tend to like strong (in terms of both smell and taste) cheeses. Camembert is my absolute favourite, but I'm only allowed it quite rarely as I insist on taking it out of the fridge at least two hours before eating it and stinking out the kitchen. A good mature Stilton is great on oatcakes.

I'm not too keen on strong cheeses, but have just discovered the merits of putting some variety of blue cheese (I don't know which) in with the bread mix when we make rolls. It doesn't wreck the texture, but you can actually taste the cheese (which you couldn't in the alleged 'cheese and onion' bread mix I had).
Today I am mostly wondering "how can they be so stupid?" with reference to the students at the college where I work. Seriously, one student tried to suggest using the online form that Playboy's website didn't contain 'adult materials'

Well, Playboy *is* pretty quaint when compared to a lot of the other...uh...adult material out there.

A man who attempted to commit suicide in Australia was kept alive by a vodka drip in hospital- http://uk.news.yahoo.com/afp/20071010/tod-health-australia-italy-alcohol-offbe-37b0eca_1.html
A triumph for lateral thinking by the doctors, and it's nice to see that Vodka does have a practical purpose beyond making me fall over.

Surely that it a matter for those doing the categorisation and classification of such things. For my tuppence worth there are two categories that matter in this situation, 'allowed' and 'not allowed'. That particular website I agree should in this circumstance be in the 'not allowed' category.

The vodka drink - one of my former colleagues once tried to explain to me that you can indeed counteract the effects of certain kinds of alcohol with completely different kinds of alcohol. Don't remember which kind was which, though...

Well, the thing is that in the past there were quite a lot of errors in the categories, for example the website of a local estate agent was categorised as pornography. The trouble was that people wouldn't let us know when that happened, in case they were wrong about the site, so we put a button on the 'this website is blocked' so that you could submit corrections anonymously.
However, the students interpret this as an 'Automatic page unblock' button, because they switch off their brains when they're not doing class work.
Since the system doesn't allow us to put categories inside categories, we can't just have 'blocked' and 'unblocked'.

Pity that we require so much sleep in order to function properly. Life is short and we have to spend a third of it asleep. On the other hand, my dreams lately are more fun than my real life.

I played paintball last night in my sleep. I got my new marker last night before going to bed, so I guess I was thinking about it all night.

I don't get enough sleep, ever. Don't know why that is (could be all the darn caffeine I drink, maybe).
Well, that and having 4 jobs.

Nice cheeses are nice at Christmas, especially ones you haven't had before. I sometimes pick up differant cheeses at a silly price in the supermarket if it is supposed to becoming out of date, although I would have thought a lot of cheeses would have to be very old to be going off.

I have just been to Wicks builder's merchants and Homebase for tools and slab insulation I need, well one pack of insulation as weighs a ton as is the most dense and my sack barrow will only carry one, no car. It took two hours insteed of one and to be honest I am sitting here making excuses to myself as now khow much mess it is likely to make and that although hopefully I will have a quieter life there will be no end result of inproved appearance to flat like decorating a room. Although perhaps the quietness might prevent me from throwing a cup of tea at wall in frustration!

Morning, all. I showed up to work this morning, more or less at 9am, with an appointment with a client at 9:45. It was vitally important that an attorney be at the meeting (my license hasn't come in the mail yet), and I'd left a message on the Managing Attorney's cell phone last night to that effect. I didn't really worry, because the other two attorneys are always here before me.
Of course, both attorneys went to the same meeting without telling me or giving me a way to contact them

"Well, the thing is that in the past there were quite a lot of errors in the categories, for example the website of a local estate agent was categorised as pornography."
I had similar trouble using the local libraries. They wouldn't let me on Yahoo Groups once; it had been categorised as "alcohol". The only system seemed to be to tell a librarian and they'd pass it on. It also called Ain't It Cool News "pornography" until I hyphenated the URL as http://www.aint-it-cool.com/. Presumably the unhyphenated version was read as aincool.com.
Cheeses - Oddly I like the old volatile cheese more served just with some crackers and relatively weak ones in sandwiches and so on. You'd think the more stuff you serve the strong ones with the more the flavour would be offset but it doesn't seem to work like that.
