Don't worry on my account, Lil. I've accepted that I'm never going to be FTTF - and am happy to settle for just avoiding the blue hairy pants
We do appreciate all the back-room stuff you do for the Atelier and know it has to be fitted in around the stuff that pays the bills.

mine says "you should emulate your heros, but don't carry it too far. Especially if they are dead."
Good advice, really.

STRANGELY STRANGE ( A brain on a spring ) Posted Aug 29, 2007
Lil, your new job sounds ideal as you have already shown you have a good knowledge of history of your area.
..................................
Wildlife occasionally comes up with its interesting and amusing moments. I was looking out of my window and a squirell popped up from behind the shed with a quatre of a pizza and started to munch so I grabbed my camera and saw 2 magpies on fence next to it. The magpies didn't move for a long time then walked up to the munching squirell and eyed the pizza, one magpie peaking over shed, the other infront, with a green with envy look like the green sheen on their tail feathers.
.
I did get a photo but sadly even with 200mm lens the shed is a long way away and the photo needed massive enlargement and with camera at 500th of a second which gave an EV speed of 1250 the photo is very grainy and not that sharp sadly due to massive enlargement. While not an award winning photo it is quite amusing to see 2 magpies eying up the munching squirell's pizza. With a less able creature the magpies may have tried to run in and pinch it but squirells can give a good wack with their claws!

"Creepy Fetish Elf" does bring to mind some unwanted images...

Strangely, I keep a pair of binoculars on my kitchen windowsill just so I can watch the squirrels chowing down on bits of my pecans. I can zoom right in and see their nasty little teeth gnawing away... And I look at what the birds are eating. Usually brown things with lots of legs.

Heh... I've always said that I won't put zippers on my masks. However, that would be pretty funny!

Isn't that a quote from Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory? Sounds vaguely familiar...

Nothing nasty in here, but some interesting images, nonetheless. I especially liked the chokers.

Re: Magpies, Squirrels, and Pizza
In Tucson, where I used to go to school, there's a place called "Magpie's Gourmet Pizza" Their slogan was "That's a MAGnificent PIE". They might like your photo, even if grainy.

Squirrels. Harrrrumph.
One of the wee blighters has stripped all the nuts off both my filberts - and was number one suspect in the Who's-Making-Those-Scuttling-Gnawing-Noises-Above-My-New-Ceiling Mystery.
It turns out we've had a rat in the house. Ratty's days are numbered
I still don't like grey squirrels; they're nasty, verminous, wee horrors, predating upon young birds and eggs - and making life difficult for our native Red Squirrels which are a different beastie altogether.
