The Matrix should have been left alone. The pseudo-psychology and philosophy went way overboard for Reloaded and Revolutions. I think that The Matrix was a ground breaking action thriller. It really did break new cinematic ground for it's camera and special effects work. The story was OK, and the acting enough to get the job done.
Oh, and I noticed something about David Lynch earlier? I still think that he is a hack and needs to never release another picture. I am still furious that I sat through that worthless piece of garbage called Mullholland Drive. One day I hope that people realize that David Lynch is a chump and a horrible director.

I dropped a jam jar on my big toe last night. It has just about stopped hurting now though.
Best get Matina to hide the breakables...

And I meant to tell you B's Matrix ending:
Following on from Neo's sudden ability to control machines outside the Matrix, B suggested that in the next film it would turn out that the real would would be found to be just another layer of the Matrix.
Which sets up a nice ambiguous ending where they do, finally, manage to break out, also leaving the room open for sequals. That would be the Hollywood ending.
The art house ending would be for it all to end at the moment they find there is no escape.

Ag, I'm wincing in sympathy with your mishap as I type this -- I once tried to lift a whole chicken out of a stewpot, and it slipped off the forks; the splash burned my stomach and arms pretty badly! Scalds and burns are works of the devil, I tell 'ye...
Marv, I agree with what you say about Michael Moore; I've never been able to watch one of his films all the way through. That said, I *do* think we need people like him, to poke the fannies of the Powers That Be, lest they get too comfortable. And I especially agree about how Cuba is treated. What IS it with the U.S. that we just keep on doing some stupid political move that doesn't work, long after everyone can *see* that it doesn't work? Cuba was supposed to crumble and beg for mercy -- didn't happen, and not going to. Keeping on with that policy just makes us look like losers. Or really, really slow.

Like cinemas, never saw any of the Matrix (had enough of matrices at university math ) and now have the ability to rent movies the broadband way at home (though the cable to upstairs hasn't automagically repaired itself during the night...)
I didn't hear the DK commentators for the ESC to comment on them - Danish newspaper Politiken apparently agrees, tartaronne, my favourite journalist there today calls them "as funny as stolen bicycles and mould on marmelade"

I don't see many movies made for grown-ups in the theatre, so right now is a good time for me to be found in the theatre! Shrek the Third, Pirates (I don't even care if it's bad...I want to see Keith Richards and Johnny Depp play father and son, and I can just all over Johnny Depp), and Surf's Up.

What on earth was happening yesterday? Sun-spots? Inanimate-object conspiracy? All these burns and bashes. Beatrice, how's your tummy this morning? Sol, how's your toe?
Thank you for all the sympathy and advice. I held cold wet flannels to my tummy while arguing with S as to the benefits of getting under a cold shower (the which is one of my least favourite experiences). After a while I put lavender gel on the burns. They're not bad burns - no blistering. Just very very red. They should have vanished in a week. Meanwhile, of course, they kept me awake all night because everytime I moved one or 'tother would brush against the sheets...
*sigh*
Matina, please may I have a very very strong and ferocious and some aspirin?

The Matrix was good, special effects fantastic. The others had good points but could have been left.
The rain has stopped so it is better than last night when I went to bed. If only we could stop the slugs eating the little seedings we have outside.

Hi tod!
Ah yes, the Eurovision Song Contest... I actually predicted that Serbia would win after Swedish TV had shown videos of the contestants before the finals. I should have put some money on her - it's the second time I've been right about the winner! I liked Serbia - good singing voice, catchy tune, easy to hum along in the refrain.
Hyp, the artists are a mix of old hands, new hands, amateurs and professionals. Some have already made a big name in their home country, some are completely unknown and never heard from again.
Something that *really* confused me was that the Latvian artists sang in Italian. What's even more confusing is that two of the three lyric writers are Swedish...
You can see and listen to the videos (not the final, though) here:

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Posted May 14, 2007
Well, Eurovision was pretty much as expected... Wogan getting progressively drunker and more sarcastic and the UK entry being revealed for the tripe it was.
Though I must admit that I spent most of it reading comics (Oxfam Bookshop in Brizzle has a large number of old 2000ads ranging from mid 80s to mid 90s. If only I'd had the £300 odd required to get them all), as the lack of Doctor Who meant I needed to get my sci-fi fix from another source.
I also *finally* managed to get the Big Finish Who audio 'Spare Parts' which I listened to on Sunday.
and/or for those who need 'em.

STRANGELY STRANGE ( A brain on a spring ) Posted May 14, 2007
The three HP printer ink cartridges just arrived in post, each in a seperate parcel!
Must be cheaper as I didn't have to pay postage which is normally around £4 for such things.
As I mentioned I bought them off shore in Guernsey an island not far from Britain but with a duty free type of thing there , like buying cheaper goods abroad for UK people.
As Lil suggested I checked them carefully to ensure they were genuine and they appear so. To be honest as with all new companies I was worried the whole company was a scam but it appears not. They even have the proper customs stickers on as an inport, which explains their cheapness. I wanted to take the risk as the HP344 is £28 in shop down the road but only £17 from Guernsey so a there is a lot to be saved especially as I was only getting around 20-25 A4 prints form a cartridge. They are even cheaper when you think they are postage free, normally £3/4. They also sell HP Premium Plus Photo Paper so may buy some there if cheap enough as it is supposed to last a hundred years or so (not in sunlight of course).
I am also waiting for some file sheets made from archive material used in musuems and 2 new folders for A4 size prin.

Staggers in via 100+ blog, phew that Eurovision's got a lot to answer for. We watched it but it must have a self erase memory feature built in. Thank goodness.
