I was wondering when someone might respond that way.

After a sojourn in Roswell I am definitely not thinking any of those things.

Gah! I was registering for classes for the Spring semester. Three classes I need all taught same days and times. There is absolutely no way I will graduate when I intended to unless I can convince the Division Chair to waive two of those classes, I don't see that happening.

Well, that's annoying GDZ. Good grief. Surely something can be sorted out there. Are you trying to do a particularly odd mixture of courses?

*Waves a hand emphatically at Ag* What she said. What I should have said but didn't. Eh well, I've copied it down now for next time. And if they keep rejecting me I will do an MA in linguistics and to hell with the state school system.

It wasn't in the University of Doom. It was in the University with Pretensions to Granduer ("Not everybody gets into Oxford and Cambridge, you know").

And guess what? Not everyone gets into any other school, either. It's why I'm here and not UCLA...pretension is so not my thing.

I'm suffering from Boardoom at work "Boredom is a pastime easily aquired"

The typical schedule of freshman at the University of Doom might look something like this:

Introduction to Western Despair
Exclamatory Writing
Pre-miscalulation
Psychology (self-study)

Now I'll have to think of a name for my university. Witty can help. Perhaps the University of Anxiety over It's Own Identity? I'll need to think a while.

When naming your university d'E, I think it's very important to have a snappy abbreviation in mind... the UAII seems a bit - uh - obscure?

UoAOIOI sounds a bit like 'Old MacDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O'

I like the University of Doom curriculum, particularly the last subject. Departments would of course include 'Unnatural Sciences'.

As about song lyrics i agree with Sol. It's a whole artform in Russia. And I even understand those.

Canned vegetables is not my thing. And many of those are not my thing at all, starting with sprouts, peas and few others. Neither do I like any pickled things. And n fact I don't like eating at all. But I like my coffee.

I think I am going to stop school for awhile and work. I need a change of pace very badly.

What's in your pantry (edibles)?

1 can baked beans (small)
1 can green beans
1 small can of hatch green chillies
2 cans stewed tomatoes (to go with macaroni and cheese)
2 cans mushroom soup
large plastic containers of oatmeal, egg noodles, white flour and long grain rice
2 boxes of harvest grain crackers
1 box of sopapilla mix
1 box of scalloped potatoes mix (I can make them from scratch, but not at 5 pm on a work night)
2 boxes of macaroni cheese (ditto)
5 lb. yukon gold potatoes
1 onion
1 container of dried beef
half a jug of cider vinegar, ditto white vinegar
1 small jug of corn oil
1 bottle of olive oil
1 bottle of honey
1 bag of Splenda
a little maple syrup
1 box of Nesquick
1 bottle balsam vinaigrette salad dressing
small plastic containers of powdered and light brown sugar
box of tea bags
jar of instant coffee
And, in my hall of shame, three packages of instant cake mix. Again, for last minute events or hunger attacks.

I also have a formidable pile of cat food cans.

Don't have a pantry, much to my chagrin (I used to have one when I still lived in my home town and oh, how I miss it at times!) - I just have ordinary kitchen cupboards, fridge and freezer... the kitchen cupboards have various edibles stowed in them, in different places, along with all the spices and about 1 zillion different sorts of tea.

Will need to wait until I get home to make an inventory of it all.

I have cellar. And there's lot of apples, apple jam, other kind of jams, canned tomatoes and al lot of stuff I have forgotten about.

And I am not going to list up all the tea and coffee I have. That would take half a day. There's something I like and have a lot of.

the contents of my cupboards are too much to share. let's just say a whole lot of stewed tomatoes, tomato sauces and pastes, soups, noodles, pasta, vegetables, all sorts of baking goods and spices.
