We should be seeing frost here, but it has not happened yet. It is 53F right now (0230) and was near to 80F today. This means that my snow making job will be slow till the temps drop to below freezing.

Every time you say "snow maker", Marv, I picture you doing some sort of dance.
Lil, I volunteer to summarize this conversation at the start of the next thread. I think that's a good idea that we all take turns, and knowing at the start of a thread that you will do it for the next one certainly helps. I'm taking notes, so you all better be on your best behavior.

I really like the summarisations. They give the place a sort of homely feel. Though I'm not sure that I would be up to the responsibility of doing the summarising myself if the job was given out in turn

Weigth loss through stress doesn't work for me, I put on about 1 stone every time I have end of term exams. Considered I have about 10 per year, fortunatly it's not per exam!
Another vote for volenteer summerisers from here as well -
and I've just passed my trauma course.. I'm planning to apply to do futher training so hopefully I'll be able to actually shadow some pre hosipital s next year. But I'm sure there's competion and it will probably go on other things as well..

Is there a shorter, every-day word for 'perambulator'? It's what my dictionary says, but there must be an easier way of saying it...

Titiana, I believe it's a pram, we are refering to those carriages that you walk babies around with. Very few people seem to know that pram is short for perambluator!

Thanks - would that be used for both varities (lying down or sitting up)?

Prams (or prambulators if you prefer) counjour up images of Mary Poppins and nannys pushing them round the park. Do people still use those old fashioned ones anymore, silver cross and the like? Or is it all the modern pushchair/buggy/stroller that can be taken apart and have the chair strapped into the car for smaller children or folded neatly up and stuck in the boot for the larger ones, possibly taking the big chunky 'off road' styled ones out with the 4WD down to the shops.

Push chairs are the upright version.
I like the summaries too and having started a thread in the past I know how difficult they are to do!

In the US, we call a pram a baby carriage. The smaller, sit-up style is called a stroller.
d'E, that was a very generous offer to do the next thread introduction. I'm willing to take a turn, too, as long as I know in advance so I can keep a notepad handy.

They've got these nift three wheeler affairs now. Sort of pram/ pushcahair combination. And the backpacks you can shove your child into are really hi-ech too. Amazing how things move on.

Looks for some reason like it's was just H2G2 as I could look at the collective before but 0 people were logged on H2G2.

Any idea how much longer all of these glitches are going to last?
About every third post I get the screen that has my U# but none of my page and says I'm not logged in.
