A *real* Krispy Kreme? Not just a stand in a Starbucks?
I think it's time for a drive to Point Pleasant.

*remembers having a rather large 'small vanilla latte, please' at Starbucks at Heathrow being stuck there when trying to get home from the London meetup*
Eh - what's wrong with Starbucks? All the staff at Heathrow (eh - can't remember which terminal) seemed to be Indian and they were all very nice! *beginning to feel the effects of being an insomniac for the third night in a row*

The hot light is on in Brick:

There is nothing wrong with Starbucks, Titania. But the donuts at Starbucks aren't made fresh on site. I hear there is nothing like a hot Krispy Kreme right off the assembly line.
Yes, it's true. I haven't succumbed to the temptation yet.

Oh - so that's just the doughnut bit, is it? OK with me, I never was very fond of them anyway (and besides, Greebo always seems to be nicking them just as you're trying to lay your hands one one, right?)
*decides it would probably be a good idea to try and get some sleep before she goes any ier, especially at 1.30 am*
G'night all... *falls soundly asleep in one of the sofas*

I've had a Krispy Kreme , albeit brought to our office from the nearest franchise in Spokane. I suppose one must try them fresh, as a not-so-fresh one tastes just like a regular
.
I would love to have a Costco membership, but there's just me, and I can't justify that much purchasing in a single year. Instead, I leech off those friends with memberships and pass them my money at the cash register. Our Costco sells beer, wine and gas. I go there when I'm having a Alouette garlic and herb cheese spread fit and buy a case. Also, ours sometimes carries this liter jug of an artichoke and lemon pesto that I plan on buying someday.

I suppose I should provide the necessary links for the Salonistas outside the US!

Krispy Kreme's fresh off the line are good. Once they have cooled, they are only OK. We started seeing them about a year ago in SLC, and I enjoy them, but not to the same degree as many of my friends. They are just OK donuts.

fresh-off-the-assembly-like krispy kremes are the ONLY way to go.
not enough time in the day! wish i could log on from work, but being a police dept, there's the internet gestapo to worry about.

There is the odd Costco lurking in the UK and Macro too. Although we do seem to go through enough loo rolls to warrant a bulk purchase of 250, I haven't got anywhere to store them.
I'm 3.5 years older than H, he says I'm still 16 though!
Off to the fro a routine test. This is a new one, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed and fists clenched in the hopes she can get in first time.

Too hot again here in Manchester (England), though the walk to the train station was pleasant enough in the cooler part of the morning.
When buying stuff I try and buy from some good small local places. We have a great butcher, baker and greengrocer nearby so we try and use them where possible. It's good that the town still has them as well as the 24hr Tesco (large general supermarket for those who may not know).

The new found my vein first go, but I now have a bruise, I expect it is all that blood trying to get to the surface to cool down.
Then I went to the supermarket, it was in the freezer section, but as I got to the checkout, the hot, wet air coming from the door was horrible!

It's a really nice temperature here in Leeds . Earlier in the year I bought a large fan to cool my monitor down but it's proving to be very useful for keeping me
too. I'm actually wearing a frock today

So we have a befrocked Ant and a bruised castle. I wonder what else will turn up later
I've just had a most excellent customer care conversation. I needed to ring up the supplier of a device that has just gone up the spout. Took my details and said one will be dispatched first class later today
OK so it was a medical company as one of my insulin pens has broken down but still it's nice that it can happen.

We do not have a Costco. We do not have a Krispy Kreme. We do not have a Starbucks. We do have very hot weather. We do not have commuter trains and very few cargo trains any more, so if the tracks melt.........
I overdid yesterday. I was not able to arrange a work crew on such short notice, so my cousins and I went to Nevada and loaded everything ourselves. I was last night. High fever, nausea, muscle spasms. But it's all in the warehouse. We loaded two trucks, an 18 foot trailer and a pickup. One of the trucks and the trailer are still parked in the warehouse. By finding the counters to use inside the temporary building, I'll be able to stay open longer. I won't have to move what we're using now. I need a raise.
Cousins are extremely handy.

Have you been drinking enough water, H.? Not sure about the fever, but nausea and spasm could be signs of dehydration

I've just found out I failed an exam I thought I'd done very well on. This has rather annoyed me to say the least, I can resist the exam at the end of the year (and probably again if I don't fail anything else.) I'm just frustrated that I failed when I'd done all I could to pass the exam. I've checked that it isn't a mistake and the administrators already done a re mark, It was multiple choice anyway.
I have heard that last year they were told that the exam concerned was too easy, so they were under pressure to make more people fail it.
I've got a meeting with the course co-ordinator tomorrow, where I'm hoping to get some sort of explanation, as to why this happened,He'll have a copy of the exam paper and my answers so he'll at least be able to point out where I went wrong.
I'd actually been fairly calm about this exam, when usually I'm a bit of a panicker. I'd put a lot of work in and was sure that I knew enough to pass. In fact I'd actually been getting some self esteem recently and thinking that I was a good student, and likely to graduate, usually I'm convinced that failure's ineveitable.
