Right on, Z!
Well, Marv, at least it'll be clean when I get there.
Weird happenings here yesterday. An employee of one of the local grocery stores walked into the store about 5 miles from my house and went postal with a sword, killing 2 before he was shot and killed by police.
And then Katherine Hepburn died. Alright, yes, she was 96, but it's odd to think that that voice has been silenced.

MR - The sword thing happened at my local store. I almost went there yesterday morning, but decided to go to the Ralphs a few blocks away. Crazy stuff, literally.

A sword? Now that is bizarre. Not too many people have swords these days.

Blimey, lots in the backlog.
I cannot remember the cards themselves, but I do remember the gist of the reading, which was essentially 'stay cool and hang on in there, it'll take time, but it will work out in the end'.
To be honest, I wonder whether Tarot is more about mind-reading than about the future, because this is the advice I would give myself if I wasn't me, and at the last tarot reading, she was incredibly accurate about what I expected to happen this year, but that is not what actually has happened.
However, it is still good advice, whether it is from my sub-conscious or from the future so I am happy to take it.
Marv - how wretched to have food poisoning, I hope you are feeling better now. I only ever drink coke or pepsi medicinally, (or with rum!) and I find them very effective. Ginger Ale or Ginger Beer would work even better, because of the ginger of course.
Who had the lost ? Has it come back yet? Concerned peeople want to know!
Postal with a sword? Scary, scary stuff.
Sorry about not going to the Meet. I am very glad that I didn't though, because I was absolutely shattered, and I still have lousy energy levels. However I am being much stricter with myself about not eating wheat, dairy or junk. My only remaining vice is sugar in Chai tea, and I should really cut out both.
What else is new?
My PL is back out of radio silence, but is flying around Europe like a demented creature for the next couple of weeks. I had been hoping to see him this weekend, but it isn't going to happen, so maybe later next week, and maybe not. He goes back into radio silence for three weeks in July/August, and I am not sure whether or not I will get to see him before. If I do - then great. If I don't - then c'est la vie. He will at least be out of radio silence till Christmas, and maybe into the early part of next year.
Why couldn't I fall in love with someone simpler? (Don't answer that! ) (Note to self: Get those Arcic Circle Pics online soon).
Cheers, my dears.
Ben

Congrats Z!
About meet-ups - I think I tend to see the Atelier and the Salonistas as an everyday meet-up - not RL, sure - but a virtual one...

Well, I just tried some real food and so far so good. We'll see in a few hours if that was a good idea or not.
For those that are interested, I have a new email addy. marvthegrate comcast com. My old one will forward to that account for a while so things are likely going to be ok.

*looks around the clean kitchen and sees that it is Good*
*makes tea, opens the butler's hatch, and sets out tea and coffee things*
*opens the fridge to take out the yeastpot and contemplates a bootlace sticking out of the crisper drawer*
*rattles the crisper drawer to loosen the shoelace, which then disappears like a noodle sucked through greedy lips*
*grabs the yeastpot, slams the fridge door, then sets to work making cinnamon buns*

*hesitating in the doorway, having been on her way to get the champagne bottle to get rid of writer's block*
Eh - I'll just get the bottle and be on my way, OK?
*hastily grabs the bottle and drifts out of the kitchen*
I think it *is* Matina - she's making cinnamon buns!
*pours a and swipes it, curls up in a sofa with pen and paper, leaving the bottle on the table if anyone else would like a glass*

*goes for some tea* Hi Matina! I know you're just getting back to speed, but when you get a chance could you make us some sort of snack? Sandwiches would be fine.
*returns to sofa* It looks like Matina to me, too. There's an orange button.
Congratulations, Z on publication!
The clouds are building up; I may not be speaking till this evening...

Courtesy, that was way too creepy.
Well, the D-land wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, mostly because I didn't pay for it. And there are a couple of cool rides. But 7 bucks for a burger?!

If Matina is back, maybe she could take a look at my bread machine? It's been on nearly an hour and hasn't mixed the dough yet

Is there some way to contact Ampton and find out what is going on with Matina...if that is indeed who it is?
Those cinnamon buns smell wonderful, but I think I'll skip it for now.

Hey, everyone ! Been a busy couple of days and so have not been able to post much.
Saturday evening: helped the Slumlord paint the house, and cleaned the kitchen. Went to local club ( it's called Liquid Joe's), played pool, then went home and had more beers. Stayed up until 7 AM on purpose because i knew I was working graveyard shift Sunday night.
Sunday evening : cleaned my bedroom, did about 4 loads of laundry. Cleaned the downstairs bathroom. Helped wipe down walls and mop floors in anticipation of the appraisal sometime Monday. Went to work at 10 PM. Worked until 6:30 AM- more cleaning ! Got home about 7:30 AM and found Slumlord was still up ! Stayed up with him until about 9:00.
Monday afternoon : was awakened from a deep sleep by someone in the house saying "Hello ? Is there anyone here?". After a couple of minutes disorientation figured out it must be appraiser. The Slumlord was in the shower and couldn't hear him. Threw on some clothes and ran outside to tell appraiser the Slumlord would be right out. The appraisal seems to have gone well, will know the final results in a couple of days. Shortly thereafter a friend showed up with 2 young grandsons (ages 4 and 2) in tow, and told me her daughter (the boys' mother) had been fighting with her husband and was feeling suicidal. She had been checked into the Psychiatric ward of the University Hospital Spent the rest of the evening, until a few minutes ago with her and the boys.
Now, hopefully, I can relax...

Well, I am feeling somewhat human so I am reasonably sure that I had food poisoning. I have a sore chest from the coughing, and well other activities that effect the chest muscles.
I feel kind of bad that I did not help out more in the cleaning for the apraisal, as I was recovering from the poisoning. I do need to do some more cleaning in my part of the Pit, but overall I am glad to see the house as clean as it is. Of course, I am sure most of you would be horrified by what passes for clean around here.
