I have a problem with a lot of modern art, too. One of my teachers tells me that I have come back to art at the right time, because when I was in college it just wasn't fashionable to do representational art, it all had to be abstract or clever, for lack of a better word. But representational art IS making a comeback. Oh, the tyranny of the soup can. I've never liked ~anything~ by Warhol.

Well I'm a pre-Raphaelite man myself ... if you see what I mean.

My Dads' still bitter that he didn't win the John Moores prize, becuase his entry was 'too figerative'. I was cledus, I don't much like that either.

Lil, I used to have a painted gourd. It had a folk art scene - barn, fence, cows, chickens, farm house, and people seated at a picnic table having lunch. I got it at the Kansas State Fair. And I had a gourd birdhouse. Both finally got ratty and I tossed them. If I had kept them inside they probably would have lasted longer.
