Tocc, is there anywhere around the atelier where you could establish a microbrewery? I'm sure the products would be much appreciated by all the salonistas!
That thread is about to collapse under the weight of its own ill-will any minute -- there's some serious name-calling going on. Imagine if the world were run by sixteen year-olds!
Not that I know how old the thread participants are. I'm only judging by the behaviour.

It's been a very busy Monday for me and the office's sole remaining printer that works just went down.

I thought the main problem with long exposures and digital cameras was that the pixels get "stuck", so you end up with little colored flecks all over your image.

d'E, I'll let you know. There's probably some kind of excess pixel remover you can buy at specialty shops.

Oh I see, Marv. Well, isn't that the nicest present?
I am ill. Can you teach with a fading voice? I shall go and show it to people later and see if they tell me to go home.

Extra pixels remover? Wouldn't that be a handy way to diet
It seems very strange that after all these years of being fairly allergy free, I have developed hay fever. This morning it feels bad enough to warrant taking a Clarytin pill.

"Extra pixels remover? Wouldn't that be a handy way to diet?" Caer, you are a genius!!
I made a major cock-up yesterday. I was just settling in to the evening when I got a phone call, it was my mother's cousin at Heathrow saying "where are you, Ben?"
One thing I can do well is drive safely and fast, (I was married to a superb driver for years, and he taught me an awful lot of really not-obvious stuff about driving), and I made it to Heathrow in an hour and twenty minutes. Let's just say that the RAC think it should take two hours, and leave it at that. But I found it tiring: you can take a lot less for granted, and you have a lot less time and space to play with. And though the roads were clean and mainly dry and blissfully clear of cars, I found having to look that much further ahead an effort. My natural focussing distance on a road is about 400 yards, but quarter of a mile is just to close to be concentrating on at those speeds.

Lil, I did set up a brewery in the Cellar of the BoF Inn, but I did find it hard to dedicate the time to it, it would be wrong of me to litter H2G2 with breweries!
Although I technically have nothing to fill my days with at the moment, I am trying very hard not to get drawn into HooToo too much, It isn't finding me work, or doing stuff round the house!
Caer, I was getting Hayfever in Surrey over the last couple of years, it seems much better up here, which is a blessing. Is the amount of rubbish in the air getting worse I wonder?

Yaers ago that extra pixwl remover Caer and Ben talk about was just an airbrush in the art department...
There are methods of doing the stuck pixel thing, dark photo (take a picture with the cap still on) and light photo (picture taken a bright light source) before exposing the image. You can then remove the problem pixels (you know where they are from the first two exposures) with some software or hard work. Most of the people producing top notch (and profesinal astronomers) astro photos these days use specially built ccd devices. There is a whole group of people modifying webcams to use those. Me I'll stick with analogue film rigth now.
Sunshine and heavy showers here today. Suppose it'll be a good day to stay in and fill in a couple of job application forms.

Congratulation to Sol on her front page article today . It's a very thorough description of Moscow .

Enjoyed the article Sol.
Beautiful day here - at least until evening when the rain is supposed to move in again. Naturally, since I have tomorrow off! I still haven't planted my beans, cucumbers and squash. And what's left of the purple millet that Molly grazed on is ready to transplant.
Have a very busy rest of the week coming up.
