And just how do you get to be able to perform the deed, Marv, I've been meaning to ask. Njan said it was something to do with filling out a form on the internet (unless I'm completely mistaken)

Another warm and sunny day here. Seems that they want to get leaves on the trees in 3 days. It was about a time - no, the time was couple weeks ago already.

still trying to slog through the papers. I lament of the next generation's writing skills.

Today it's an acupuncture day and then I'm going to visit a new gym on the way back. It's more expensive than my current gym but it's nearer and might be nicer so perhaps I'll go more often.

Good luck Ben!
Bryce, the tan didn't really turn out at all! Being a big girl's blouse over my first attempt, I only used one tan on both legs and I think I should probably have used one on each leg. But I shall have another go once the pale yellow here and there has faded.
All the s round here don't catch half as many s as the sparrowhawk does! It's amazing how a bird of prey is so happily resident in suburbia, but then the skies are stuffed full of plump pigeons.

Sol, There is a church based in Modesto California that will ordain anybody. It is sketchy but it is legally recognized. Njan and Nyssabird asked me to do the honours, and I agreed. Now there is the 700 mile drive that I have to take in a single day and just a few days till the happy affair.

Thanks for the luck! I got the appointment I wanted more or less when I wanted it, for which I am vey grateful.
Does anyone know of any free faxing software? I am running WinXP and want to send a word document to one of the agencies, (their email servers are playing up). I am tight as a tick and want to send it via the internet, rather than via a phoneline.

Well done on getting the appointment you wanted Ben.
All the best for you doing the deed Marv and take the time to have a good chat with your old man while you're at it. Sounds like a good solution
Lil, although you can spend thousnds on a 'scope it's not totally nescesary to take astro pics. A camera with a B shutter setting to hold the shutter open for a long time is what's needed and that's where old school fully manual film cameras come into their own, no batteries to die half way through the exposure. Must get round to sorting out some of my astro pics and getting the on the website...

Isn't it amazing that my memory for things actually written here is apparently as shaky as my memory for spoken conversations. Probably it was because I didn't understand.
Still, Marv, I confess to being most interested in whether you got ordained for this ceremony or for some other reason, and if so what (though obviously you don't have to answer that).
Today is far too hot. By which I mean that I foolishly put on a thick woolly jumper this morning for what is quite clearly t shirt weather.

Phil, I've got the indefinite-shutter-open on my D-60 and the batteries really do go on and on and on, so I'm sure I can take an hour long shot, but I'm going to have to find a little vise or clamp to hold the shutter button down on the remote release.
But no use trying for the next 10 days or so, till the moon is well past full.
Hootoo is behaving very well for me, although I couldn't get on at all, earlier.
*gets a cup of tea* See you all later, I have a planet almost done and I want to see whether it's a good one. If it is, I'll invite you all in for a look!

Having a good day!
I got the appointment for tomorrow - nothing serious, just irritatingly time-critical, and I cleared A LOT of paperwork I have been hiding from for over a month, and then I went out on a wee spree and bought two pairs of jeans and a bag all for twenty-six quid, so I am feeling very smug.
Off to spend the rest of the afternoon lazing in bed with Robert Heinlien.

Hooray! Made it through the recent backlog!
Lil’ should anybody else need it, your rundown was at post 3252.
The Spiral Staircase in the library looks lovely, but then I have a soft spot for spirals.
As Munchkin said, we got some gardening done yesterday. Despite being warned about the moss, I managed to slip and land my full weight onto a railing. I now have a few grotty looking bruises and a very sore stomach
Still the border is looking better, and I hope to plant clematis to grow along the fence soon.
I too avoid confrontational postings, life is too short.
Was someone asking what Towel day was? It is a commemoration of the Death of Douglas Adams. I have been involved in a discussion weather we should note it or not.
Ah well back to looking at microbreweries.

In that case Lil you should be able to get some good star trail pics and even with fairly short exposure (10-30 secs) you can get some good stuff with the stars looking like points (mostly)
