Yes, we have tits in the States. Several varieties. Hey, they're very pretty little birds and it isn't their fault their name has been appropriated for other purposes.

How many of you all are actively involved in the Edited Guide or are community volunteers of one kind or another?
I've been following F19585?thread=270267 and it troubles me deeply because I didn't realised that such deep divisions were being dug. Some of what is being said about the community as being NOT the Guide (never mind the veiled personal attacks and the attacks on the Italics) seems practically malevolent.
Perhaps Towel Day is a good time to address this.
Last night I got to see Jupiter and Star Cluster M13 and got some good tips on how to take pictures of stars. Unfortunately I don't have several thousand dollars to spend on a telescope, but there's a place to go, they said, where one can rent a cabin and the use of a telescope! Cheap!

Only read that thread if you have a strong stomach. it gets nasty in places.
I've just come back from a lovely walk across the valley of the River Wharfe. I'll put a report in my journal later after I've had a bath. I should have taken Zeppo. There were several other walkers, dogs of various shapes and hue, horses by the dozen, some sheep and a few folk on mountain bikes. We wouldn't have had to feed him for a week .

Hmmmmm, definitely a change in colour, bit patchy around the knees and ankles, but an improvement on my usual pale blotchiness.
I would use those tans again, but take a little more care. I have heard that the L'Oreal spray tan is good too.
*rolls trouser legs back down*
Glad you had a good walk, Amy. It has started raining here, but a little gardening was done before it started.

*in her pyjamas having just got out of the bath*
Why do fake tans always smell like digestive biscuits?
*currently smells of patchouli oil and peppermint*

I don't think I can bear to wade into that thread. Not after I made an incoherent of myself about spelling when some irritant was banging on about standards in grammar.
Clothes are washed and we are ready to roll into work tomorrow, mores the pity.
And having scanned the b'log, I'm off for a little look around.

Sadly, too many of the threads lately are angry and insulting. That's what happens when the contributors are more interested in talking than listening, with the result that nothing is ever resolved. It's turning me into a lurker. Half the time I'm afraid to offer an opinion.

Hmm, tend to avoid angry threads myself, if nothing else because I don't have the time to spare on them. Anyhoo, I also did some gardening today (How grown up does that make me feel ) and due to Toc's sterling work removing the overgrown bushes we can now see out of all the windows.

Hi all, am busy revising, so just a flying visit. Was wondering who's going to make the London meet? I'll be there, now that's a good reason to go isn't it?

I've put mine and H's names down on the RSVP thread, Z.
Hypatia, I have to admit to avoiding threads where arguments are not rationally discussed.

Apologies in advance if this is a double post. Somebody is playing silly b*ggers with the net tonight.

Well, it's shaky but it's working. Not the net, just hootoo. Sometimes it drops a frame but a few flushes seems to do the trick.
I'm not really angry any more, just feeling a tad mischievous over amongst the Angry Disaffected Ones. The ADOs.
Lots to do IRL, lots to do...

a girl called Ben Posted May 11, 2003
I got about half way through listing the number of posts in these conversations and was defeated by the speed of the site.
However, I spent the afternoon learning how to use simple cascading style sheets, and then learning how to muff them onto geocities. I now have all of the poems up on half a dozen pages on Geocities, (except for one which is very bad, and one which is just too private). The pages are lean and mean, and look clean, and as a result I am feeling very smug with myself.
I am now very sleepy, and it is time for me to go to bed.

Spent most of the day at my Mom's then came home and did some gardening.
I unsubscribed from the Ask h2g2 conversations quite a while ago but still check out the odd one. It seems to be the same people involved in all of them. They must stay online for hours and hours each day. Which may explain their intensity. Hootoo is obvioulsy a huge part of their lives as oppposed to the pleasant interlude that it is for most of us.
Munchkin and Caer are right - it doesn't make sense to take part in threads that irritate you.

How did your tan turn out,Caerwynn ?
We don't have too many birds around where I live because of the cats. I did see wild quail the other day, but I fear they will not last long in this neighborhood. The adults may be able to escape predators, but i don't think the babies can. The only other birds I really see are magpies (they can usually handle cats) and sparrows.

I just got back from dinner with my folks.
Looks like I might have company for rougly have of my trip next week when i go to Idaho to perform a wedding ceremony for two h2g2ers. My dad might take some time off to go visit a fishing buddy who lives about halfway between SLC and Moscow. That will help with the driving a bit, and it will give me a chance to chat with my dad. We so rarely get that chance.
Key: Complain about this post
