Sporky, I am in agreement with you but I would change inches to millimeters.

I think you two live in the wrong states. Florida, anyone?

The only problem with Southern California is that it is inhabited by too many Californians.

Yeah, Titania, I'm surprised to see how many people made it in yesterday. I never came near the 'puter.

Happy St. Stephen's Day, everyone!
Lil, the pictures are great. It's lovely to see the snow in that magical time before it gets dirty and turns to slush - and the picture of Vinnie exploring is fun.

Thanks for the e-book! And Beeblefish, the GPS is just what I wanted!

Pictures are nice, Lil. Though I have to admit that I am quite tired and bored of snow already. No cats and horses around here...

Well, I'm not bored with snow. We had the first really white Christmas for many years and it was glorious. We had 14 inches between the 23rd and 14th.
Frank was home for Christmas. The roads were bad so we didn't have any company. Which was ok. He wasn't really up to it. My brother will be here tomorrow night and my sister will be here over New Years. Anyway, it was the quietest Christmas I can remember.
I've about run out of vacation time, so I'll have to go back to work soon. Actually, I'm looking forward to it. It will be nice to have something "normal" to do.
Hope Santa was good to all of you.

I hope everything gets back to normal tomorrow. I'm bored.

But Marv, sea, Courtesy and I all live in SoCal, so it wouldn't be *all* bad.
It is the coldest winter on record in 60 years in the Sedona area...the snow actually stuck for 2 days. So much for my wanting to get away with no snow for a year!!
Oh, well. Santa was very good to me, as I see he was to all of you, as well. FG, I might have an idea about that book (have you checked with a certain person who has been rather, well, rude, lately?)
That's all from here...my mom's on a (barely) 56K running out of her only phone line, so I daren't tie it up too long. Will be back home Sunday to my nice fast university connection. I'd forgotten how spoiled I am with that!

I checked with our rude friend, MR, and they were not the culprit.
I am glad to hear that your husband is home, H. Once you're an adult, quiet Christmases are the best. Quiet, yet with a lot of good .
I am a regular drinker of English and Irish Breakfast teas and someone gave me a box of Scottish Breakfast tea for Christmas. I have yet to try some Welsh Breakfast, if it exists.... Another good gift came from Mother Nature. The creek that my mother lives on is home to a small deer herd, led by a young saucy buck that the locals have named Gordon. Despite the fact it is frowned upon by state wildlife officials and environmentalists the locals feed the herd during the wintertime. Gordon tries to keep all the hay, carrots and corn for himself by stamping his hooves and snorting in fear which drives the other does, yearlings, fawns, and bucks off. Once they have been convinced there is an element of danger, he comes sauntering up and eats all the food. I was lucky enough to have Gordon eat a small amount of corn out of my hand. If you've seen the movie Ghostbusters, having a deer lick your hand is akin to being slimed.

While there are some redeming features of SoCal, the dealbreaker for me is that it is just too crowded. Were there half the number of people in the area I would gladly live there.
