smiley - laugh FG! surprisingly enough, you're the first person to have asked.

actually, the A number after my 'FEMALE' points to a guide entry that asks researchers with gender-ambiguous or confusing nicknames to specify which gender they are so that other researchers know which pronoun to use: 'he' or 'she'. smiley - smiley i just thought it was amusing, so i thought i'd specify.

Candi - now 42!

Hello - Came back yesterday from a weekend in Cornwall visiting friends....they have three children under 5 - wonderful but exhausting! smiley - yawn

Caer - that Lush website is where I heard about Cosmetics to go....never having experienced the latter I can't compare them but I will say I'm impressed with Lush so far - when I complained about an item I bought having leaked in transit, they sent me a replacement (which didn't leak) and a free bath bomb, accompanied by a handwritten note of apology smiley - smiley

Got to make final preparations for Friday's gig very soon..

smiley - yikes

{[caer csd] Your local Chamber of Commerce will have info for start-up companies, Amy and for an annual fee, if you become a member, you will get listed in their directory. They also hold meetings and seminars that are useful for making contacts.

It sounds as if Lush are keeping to the old customer care policies of CTG, Candi. smiley - smiley}

Munchkin

[Munchkin] I may well have done a very silly thing. For a while now I have been whinging to my friends about how there are no decent SF coventions in Glasgow any more. I even said I would run one if an idea came along. And it has. And I like it. I've started to investigate the possibilities and if it all seems okay I shall be spending the next two years or so whinging about how I don't want to do it. So, apologies in advance. Still, means I get to wield ultimate power over a hundred odd people for a weekend and I ought to be able to get a Post article or two out of it.

Way to go, Munchers! Complain all you like.

I just had a very frustrating shopping experience: I put my bag into one of the locker thingies and trundled around, paid, came out, got out the key and... there was no number on the key. And I could not remember where I'd put the bag...

...so I tried all the lockers, and all the time I'm thinking I'm about to get my collar felt by some irate locker owner...

... but it didn't fit any...

... so I tried them all again and of course it was the last locker I tried.

Yours, in nervous exhaustion...

I tried tricking that 'the last place I look' thing - especially when looking for a specific piece of paper in a huge pile of paper...

...instead of starting at the top and going down, I reversed it going from down to up - it worked the first time I tried, but after that it always ended up being the second paper from the top - not first of course, as I would have seen it right away...

...so I tried searching from first the top and a little way down, and then from bottom and a little way up - but the paper I wanted turned out to be exactly in the middle of the pile!

My colleagues bent over double with laughter when I got agitated and shook my fist and shouted out loud: 'Will you stop doing that! Leave me alone!smiley - cross
