Well, I will admit that I was in no way working. This nail was a very small wire brad stuck into our wall and it had been painted over at some point (lead paint I am sure). It was nearly invisible and I tripped, throwing my hand out to support me so as not to fall and injure myself. The nail went reasonably deep into my palm, but it is in a location that has not caused me much inconvenience. I am keeping it clean and will watch it for infection, but I can't get a bandage on it easily due to it's location.

I noticed that you have the word "female" in caps after your nickname, sea. Have there been questions, confusion, or issues of late?

After an exceptionally long and warm summer, it seems that autumn has come - yesterday the wind was pretty cold, and this morning it was just +9 C (48 F) outside...

{[caer csd] Summer is clinging on here, although there has been that certain chill early in the morning.
Marv, a nice bandage does have its uses, in the sympathy stakes alone its worth its weight
Got to book an appointment for a polio booster this week I can't decide if its worse with or without the sugar cube. I shall be refusing typhoid and tetanus, the former makes my whole arm swell up and I've had enough shots of the latter over the years to give a life time's immunity.
We went for a stroll around Polesdon Lacey yesterday afternoon. The Jaguar Owners' Club was meeting there and it was quite a sight, warm sunshine, a brass band playing, glorious old cars and all set against the backdrop of a stately home.}

Munchkin Posted Sep 2, 2002
[Munchkin] Well the car was a lemon. I feel quite good about it though, as it only cost us fifty pounds to find out and we learned a lot about what to look for when checking over any others we fancy.
Still, to make up for it went up to Nodnol on Saturday and went shopping in Forbidden Planet (SF shop). Toys and comics solve most things

Shame about the car, Munchers, but at least you didn't buy it...
I gave up the quest for peanut butter that costs less than 7 dollars per small jar this weekend and made my own. Which turns out to be so vanishingly simple that I'm rather embarrased I didn't think of it earlier...

Oooooh, Congrats, Amy! And the very best of luck!!!!
T, it goes: roasted peanuts (or roast your unroated ones and shell them), doesn't matter salted or unlsalted, cos if salted then don't add salt...
Grind them up really small, add drops of oil (about one teaspoonful per 50 gramms) while mixing it into the peants until it's a paste...
And add salt, if necessary.
That's it. You're supposed to use groundnut oil, which is about as hard to find here as the butter in the first place, so we used your everydsay sunflower stuff. It tastes great

{[caer csd] Setting up a company isn't too tough, Amy, and Companies House are very helpful. A good accounting package is a must and life would have been much tougher if we hadn't found an excellent accountant who doesn't make me feel a complete banana when I phone asking questions. He also happens to be worthy of the drool thread
I'm glad you got the car checked, Munchers, I wish No2 son had done the same with his latest. But at least the repairs aren't out of the question, just expensive. Apparently a good car hunting area is behind new car showrooms, they are very keen to get shot off the part exchange cars and you can haggle quite a good deal according to one of the car programmes I was watching.}

The tough bit is finding customers, Caer.
Anyone want their website audited for accessibility?

Toys and peanut butter...
When I was a kid we had a Mr. Peanut peanut butter maker. You would put peaunts in the top of his hat, turn the crank, and out would come a thick, crunchy, coarse peanut butter. It was great.

That sounds really great Amy. Do you have a corporate website yet?

I'm not allowing myself to do my website until I have all the financial nuts and bolts in place otherwise I'll end up with a great website but no company.

I thought I'd try a mailshot and also see if the local press would accept some freelance articles.
