It is somewhat odd to see what images are cached by my machine. For instance I have most (but not all) of the goo control frame. No smilies and no buttons (post reply etc.)

I don't think y has a name anymore. He seems to be incognito (not to be confused with Incognitas...)
Bumblebee, I hope you enjoy Salt! One of these days I will get around to reading the author's other works, such as A Basque History of the World. Right now our public library is closed for the month because they are remodeling. I'm very excited (hey, gotta take your jollies where you can get 'em) to see what the New and Improved Library will look like. You'll be excited to hear, MR, that they're tossing the old avocado green indoor-outdoor carpeting.
And just 'cause everyone else is doing it:

The Salt Lake City Main Library, where I used to work, is being rebuilt. The olr building is still about waiting for construction to be completed on the new structure. http://www.slcpl.lib.ut.us/build/mainnews/model/sld003.htm
I cannot wait to see it finished, though I am sad that it is moving. I have a great deal of good memories of the old library.

Caer, I think someone suggested it already - but couldn't you (we/they/he/she/it) use the instead? Because that's rather how it feels - the mind having boinged over to something completely else rather than the thing you were supposed to remember/concentrate on/not forget/have to do...

I think we have a fair chance of a smiley.
was intended to convey a moment when one might feel bouncy and have ones pupils dilated - perhaps something not necessarily associated with seniority

Well... to me, the 'boing' smiley seems to correspond with the kind of mood where I usually start mumbling 'they're coming to take me away, ha haaaa!'...

For those of you who haven't got a clue what I'm talking about, I strongly recommend this site:

That 'song' is such a perfect illustration of how I feel sometimes, thinking I'm going off my rockers completely!
...and I think it's been quoted a lot by others who feel the same...

Thanks for the link, T. That takes me back to my childhood. I used to hear it all the time on the radio around Halloween.

So a friend is having trouble with his marriage. I am wondering what I should do to help him. He has had a rocky go at it and I don't want to make things worse.

Marv - maybe just listen?
Sometimes trying to explain something to another person makes you see things you haven't seen before, because all of a sudden you're starting to analyze them in order to be able to tell your friend in a way that he/she will understand...
