Morning Mc Munch, any thoughts on the Weekends egg chasing? Im going to Twickenham on the rather outside chance that teh crazed gaels will administer a little bit of light hubris to teh all conquering English. Probably a fat chance, but hey, live in hope.

I shall be attending my local Oirish pub which rather bizarrely claims to be showing the Welsh and Scots games tomorrow. We'll see. It gets somewhat depressing when even a game against the Italians has an air of worry.
Twickenham eh? Will you be having roast duck out the back of a Range Rover then? We only ever had egg sandwiches when we went to Murrayfield.
Come on the Celts, Come on the Celts, Come on the Celts, ad nauseum.

Sol Posted Feb 15, 2002
Well this is turning into a most surprising day for Solnushka.
Firstly I learnt a new word. This is not the unusual part. The unusual part is that the word was 'obeisance', which apparently means 'obedience to or respect for something' or (in this case) 'a deep bow of respect or obedience'. The reason I learnt it was that my new student turned out to be a buddist monk type person and wanted help with a letter to his spiritual mentor. A buddist monk is definately a first in my class.
Anyway, the second shock came just a few minutes later when I was near as dammit propositioned (in the nicest possible way) by a chap who works downstairs and who I have exchanged maybe 3 words with, while I was outside having a smoke. Which is also something of an unprecidented event in my life (the proposition, not the smoking).
So unprecidebted that I paniced and ran away.
I suspect that it will do wonders for my attempts to cut down on the ciggies, though. I am now in trepidation as to what the rest of the day will bring.

I would guess furry clouds mean it will rain cats and dogs.
Sol, I guess the proposition was not of the flattering kind? Was this guy a total rat or just some hopeless nebbish who doesn't have a clue about how to talk to women? If you want, some of us could come around to have a talk with him

I am so convinced that I have no need for a Palm Whatever that I haven't bothered to find out what such a device is capable of.. The little Nokia 3330 wonder that I got for this Mothersday has a WAP-function. Haven't got a clue about what that means either....
For those who needs someone to cheer for, today's recommendations are: Bente Skari, favourite in the free pursuit (jaktstart) and Curling where Norway meets Russia (women)Fascinating sport, curling! I think this could easily become a wintersport Loony could enjoy.
Cheese. Double Glostercher (sp?) and cheddar are good no 2's after Ridderost when it comes to warm cheese sandwiches!
Nice one, Sol! That must have been very flattering!

No no. That was the surprising part. He was quite charming, and it was rather sweet.
Mind you, he wasn't actually drop dead georgeous, but you can't have everything.

The day of truth. Will Harvey, as produced by our school, be a smash hit, or a comical flop?
A proposal from someone you barely know, Sol? I honestly don't know how to react to that. Sorry.
As for the rest of the backlog, I can't remember it for some reason. To early.

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Feb 15, 2002
After another demanding but creative art class last night, I am supposed to work at the post office all day today, but have woken up with a deep cough and semi-laryngitis, totally without warning. No fever, at least, but it doesn't look good for sitting in an adobe building with a wood stove. Half an hour from now I call the postmistress, before she leaves for the weekend, to arrange a substitute for the substitute. I need to get me to the clininc (25 miles west) for antibiotics before the weekend... and I'm supposed to work tomorrow morning as well.

But how many of us are drop-dead gorgeous? Not counting Zeppo, of course.
I hope you feel better soon, Lil. Affy, the backlog had a disproportionaly large number of your calling cards.

Munchkin, having a duck in teh back of a Range Rover does rather sound as if it may be an indictable offence - I shall undoubtedly be consuming foaming pints of Mr Courages best tongue and bowel loosener prior to the inevitable consumption of some mechanically recovered meat delicacy and making like a sardine on teh slow and remarkably inefficient trains, before wandering 3 times round Twickers looking for an incorrectly marked gate and trying to find a poorly marked seat, which will probably be next to some boring lummox in a barbour reading teh Telegraph..... But I love it!
If you are concerned about the Italian Job, imagine how we cowed and humilitated Welsh feel facing the French - Ah herp zey ar nass too us by limiting their score to 50 or so!
As for Egg sarnies, 27 pints of Heavy and a bridie or 2 in teh grassmarket rings more true!

Cheese: have any of you tried Y Feny?
I think it's a kind of Welsh cheddar - it's very strong and creamy and contains mustard seeds and - absolutely delicious! Wonderful on toast and just as good on crackers. Yum!
s off to read sea's story.

Munchkin Posted Feb 15, 2002
But how did you ever get into a pub in the Grassmarket? The problem I have of being short in Edinburgh on a match day was that I would get stuck in a corner and be unable to move. Luckily I always went with a six foot five lad who could do all the bar work for me
Ah, you'll do fine against the French, they were terrible against the Italian thirteen two weeks ago, at least that is what I'm trying to convince myself for when they come to Murrayfield.

Sol, are you going to take him up on it, or are you otherwise involved?
