I'd be lost without my mobile (yes, mobile, not cell phone )...I use it mainly for messages, but it's also the number I give out to employers etc, because my family are unreliable message-takers, and I never know whether I'll be at my mum's or dad's house.

Lonnytunes - Winter Is Here Posted Oct 13, 2001
Once-upon-a-time, I used to leave a message that included my mobile phone number on my landline phone's answer service. After getting sick of people asking why I give out the Mobil Oil Company's number, I now leave my cell phone number

Hello? Yes, Carmel, we were cut off...just a moment.
*goes to fridge, remembers to open it this time, slides open crisper drawer, drops in phone, shuts crisper, slambs fridge door, leans agains fridge panting*
Is the refridgerator sound proof?

and not the toilet brush
I am addicted to my cell phone and I'd suggest some dog-movies, Old Yeller and Lassie etc.

Methinks it be a Carmel Mac-type Bunny who should put something on their space!

SPINY (aka Ship's Cook) Posted Oct 13, 2001
Ouch! Miss a day at this skule and it's like everyone's learned about nuclear physics while you were off. Still, the teacher's quite cute, especially when she gets angry and does that ruler thing...
Okay, no time to read 12 LEDs of backlog (who has ), so I'm just dropping by to say I won't be around next week as Moira and I are off to Amsterdam for a short break. But as DD Lewis says in Last of the Mohicans, "I will find you."
Alright Miss Lil, here's my homework.
Spiny: A prickly character as shown by his having a hedgehog as an alter ego. Lives in Edinburgh, Scotland with partner Moira, a Fender bass guitar, and too much audio and recording equipment. Works in broadcasting, plays in the Chilli Dogs (a band who one day might gig again), enjoys food, drink, cinema and using H2G2 as a mild stimulant.
BTW Lil, I did have a pronounced limp: L-I-M-P pronounced "limp".

Carmel Bunny, are you a soft toy?
I will be getting a cell phone this month. Part of one's survival apparatus in these parts, in case you break down in bad weather. But I won't be giving out the number, because I don't want to be called while I'm at the Mighty WalMart or the hairstylist or whatever.
But I understand why an employer would issue them to staff. After all, it was common practise in Star Trek from the mid-60's onward. The maintenance shop must have been busy on the Enterprise, what with those communicators getting slapped silly. And was there a medical side-effect, of crew accidentally impaling themselves when the pin unlocked just as they were responding? And how come we never heard heartbeats and thoracic noises over the line? *thinks of Singing In the Rain and giggles*
If they wrote it again today, surely it would be earrings. Mandatory right ear piercing. Squeeze the tiny federation emblem dangling from the hoop to open the line.

The ringing tone on my mobile is the A Team, seeing as the only calls I seem to get on it are from my sons when they are locked out/need a lift/washing machine doesn't work/etc. Seemes appropiate!
D'E, I use my Palm for tracking my calorie intake (except I have left off last night's ) and ebooks. I preffered my Psion, but the screen threw a wobbly and it was just too big to get into my handbag!

The most important thing on my Palm is my car pool schedule.
Oh, and d'E, we must be revolving in the same social circle. I got that e-mail warning, too... 3 times!

I have a cell phone for emergency purposes - except that the battery is invariably flat when I need to use it.

[Munchkin]
Has a mobile for emergencies and finding people in the middle of Nodnol. Sometimes wonders if it wouldn't be cheaper and easier to hire the Bat Signal.
A propos of nothing I found the new Christopher Brookmyre book in the shop this morning Starts off with a scathing attack on Aberdeen and gets bigger and uglier from there. I love his books.

You should have shouted louad that you wanted descriptions lil. I didn't bother reading that bit of backlog.
I wonder what can be said about me....

'spelugx: Also known as "x".'
Hmm. Thats a bit boring isn't it?
Any better suggestions? Description by committee sounds dangerous, but I'll risk it.

Much was drunk last night and so I ended up getting home late and have spent today recovering from the and walking round a scuba show having failed to get what I wanted to buy (didn't have my size, has been ordered).
I think I'll have an early night tonight.

i love my cell phone. i rarely give out the number, but in time, all my friends have gotten it. fortunately, i tell them that the ringer is never on... it's just a REALLY expensive answering machine, really.
but i love being able to call my parents while i'm walking to class... i'd have no time to do it if i didn't have the cell.
*very tired*
i was up late last night... went to Midnight Madness at 'SC - basically a propaganda show of the women's and men's basketball teams. our mens team is really good!!!!
i was up until 3 this morning. went out to dinner with my friend's family to the cheesecake factory...
*drools at thought of delicious leftovers in her fridge*

I hate phones. I only use them at work because I think I'd be fired if I didn't. At home I don't answer the phone, ever. The answering machine always picks up if I'm home alone.
I've touched a cell phone but I've never turned one on, let alone use one.
And Rincewind's luggage is perfect. I wish I had one to follow me about and kick people malicioulsy on the ankle.
