Is that a stalactite or a stalagmite? I can never remem....
/* THUD */
Hey! Who pulled my rope?

Sorry d'E, I was hoping some one was on the end of it though, as we are in danger of being left behind.
Stactites hold on tight to the ceiling and stagamites push up with all their might.
See? I am useful to have on quests!

I always remember it by remembering that the letter "t" could easily hang from the ceiling, wheras the letter "m" needs to be grounded. Caves have always been an interest of mine.
*Affy pulls out his battery-powered brass lantern and flips it on. He also pulls out a radio speaker, in the hopes that he'll have a better chance to avoid running into Chloe*

StalaCtites - Ceiling
StalaGmites - Ground
Always seemed very easy to me.
Anyhoo *Further torch waving* Why were we all trouping in here anyway? And does the fact the stalactitie is made out dirty towels have anything to do with it?

I think Lil came in here first to search for Titania.
I am going to put my wellies back on, don't leave me here!

The little green light in the distance is Titania. I wish I had such a spacy closet
*Wonders how come everybody turned on their lights and ther's still no light and zero visibility*
Say, isn't there a light switch somewhere back?

*runs to catch up with everyone else* adjusts blue lasers in eyes to a low setting for illumination* rummages in left welly for the emerald that Styx gave her*

Madame Tussauds store the heads from their defunct figures in the closed caves in Wookey Hole because the temperature is so stable.
I hope this closet doesn't go that far, it would be really scarry to suddenly have Alvin Stardust's head loom up at you out of the gloom.

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Oct 5, 2001
*suddenly Lil is right in front of them*
What on EARTH made you think of Alvin Stardust, Caerwynn?
Don't go any further, anybody, till we think how we're going to cross the big hole just ahead. How the linen closet got connected to caves... wait... Quorthon's mosh pit is still underneath us somewhere!
The Linen Closet
Researcher 179388 Posted Oct 5, 2001
I have no idea Lil, out of all the hundreds of heads they have stored there, his popped into mine .
Not sure I fancy the idea of a mosh pit.
*has a rummage in another knick knack pocket, combat trousers are so useful*
Is this rope bridge long enough?
The Linen Closet
Dancer (put your advert here) Posted Oct 5, 2001
It's all a matter of porportion, if it is deep enough, the far end becomes small, so it fits in
About the hole, I have no problem, GAs can

I don't know. Someone would have to be on the other side to be able to tell us.
I'm off to Roswell for drug screening . See you all in about 10 hours.

Sorry that I can't carry anyone, but I have a really bad cramp in the muscles of the left wing, and it'll just *kill* me.

If I secure the rope bridge this end, Dancer will you fly over the other side with that end? Then we can see if it is long enough.

I STILL can't get the image of Alvin Stardust out of my head. Probably as part of some wax work army storming out of the caves in a very Dr. Who-esque sort of way. Oo er, I think I've worried myself now.
Do you want me to point my torch to the far side, to make it easier to fly over? I can just about make out ... oh look a stalagmite just like Papa Smurf. Well Papa Smurf after a near fatal road accident anyway.
The Linen Closet
Dancer (put your advert here) Posted Oct 5, 2001
Sure
*Flies over to the other end, finds a robust stalagmite and secures rope bridge tightly*
*Echoing voice* It isn't so far actually, just about 10 meters.
