I'm sorry to say that the side thread probably originates from the same ISP as I use
It appears that the brighter users of the digital TV service have discovered how to get over under or around the fences.
There are quite a few active digital TV users who have appeared on Hootoo over the last couple of months so I've left a pointer for whatsisname to one of the more experienced ones, hopefully they will point him in the right direction.
From what I can see of it the TV systems technology seems to come from the shallow end of the gene pool.

I'll take credit for saying it would aggrevate the situation -- even though I didn't say it! Actually I was hoping it wouldn't, as the speech writters seemed to make very, very, very sure to be clear on one major point: Islam = Good, Terrorism = Bad. Afghanistan, apparently, didn't get that part. I guess they want more people to die?
The only part I actually took exception with was the use of military force.

Beautiful responses, both of you. I was trying to come up with a cunning way to say "We don't respond to people who yell at us" but I think that the two of you dealt with it much better.

How's the weather all over the world today?

[Spiny, just off to wish farewell to a colleague of some 20 years who's off to start a new life in Boston. Timing not his strong point, then.]

(At least its Boston, Spiny. Could be worse)
The sky is clear, the sun is shining and the temperature is appropriate to the last day of summer, Arl.

Is tomorrow the first day of Autumn, then? It's also Bilbo and Frodo Baggins' birthday. Which means it will find me curled up with The Fellowship of the Rings and a cup of hot tea.
Blue sky, with clouds coming from the North (that's where clouds come from ) We may get a drizzle around 4pm, but that's normal, and I'm not backing it up with a look at the weather report. Just barely warm, a slight breeze. And only one class.
It certainly is Friday

Weather here is dull grey and drizling (tried 4 spellings of that, none of which looked right). It's been like that for the last 2 days too. Temperature is not too bad, though, with a high near 20C. Forecast is for the same until Monday.
Hi, T and friends.

Ooh, a mini-conference post from Scandinavia! Hallo y'all!
Weather here is warm and sunny with thunderclouds moving over the hills to the north, toward us.
Anyone who cares to read balanced and varied reactions to last week's events should look for the September 24 issue of the New Yorker magazine. The cover is practically all deep off-black except for two twin towers, which are wholly black.

Morning all. Clouds looming in the south. Contrary to what was posted above. South (Antarctica) is where clouds come from
Sorry about my lack of attendance at the birthday party. RL intervened. Sob.
