You've been to London, Sporky? It's a great city - just the right size. Not too big, so it is knowable and not too busy, and not too small so has everything you need. We really like it here and would stay here forever, if it weren't for the weather. We have come to despise winter and really want to live somewhere warmer. It will be about 2 and a half years, though, before we can actually leave London itself, as we need will need my salary until then.
Thanks for clearing up the bathroom accessory reference, Amy. I should probably be careful how I answer your last question, I think. How about this: some of them.
Chris - somehow the thought of moving into a house full of someone else's furniture isn't too appealing. Who knows what disgusting habits the last residents had. I think the trick to being mobile is simply having less stuff. We have been simplifying our lives for years now and have gotten rid of tons of stuff in the process. It really feels good to not be weighted down by it all.

I got lost too, Amy. But neatness makes me feel so guilty. I don't live in squalor, but I have piles of books and magazines on the coffee table, heaps of things all around me here in the office, pictures or prints up where I can look at them... My kitchen is clean, mold- germ- and insect-free, but things line the counter -- appliances, trivets, the knife block, small porcelain creatures that come free in boxes of tea bags, a little thingie for drowned tea bags, the chopping board, two plastic cannisters with the mealtime dog biscuits, the intercom to the garage, the kitchen roll holder...
I should say in my defense that the cupboards were full when I got here ... with my mother's stuff. And there is something about kitchen stuff that is more difficult to cull than anything else. Maybe some people feel this way about their toolbench or stationery drawers. Me, I can't throw away that bundt pan just cos I never used it yet.
And do need to be culling: my brother's recent visit lightened me up greatly. But the kitchen? I'll be packing every last colander.

I through out all my kitchen stuff before I moved to Dubai ( quite a lot of it went in the direction on one of my brothers too - handy things aren't they?) but I seem to have accumulated a similar haul since I came back. And I'm about to inherit all my flatmate's stuff when she returns to Brazil. A trip to the charity shop is in order, I think.
*sits down with a whisky becasue she's actually quite upset by things elsewhere even though she knows she shouldn't be and is trying hard not to be*

GL, I don't like the idea talked about either, but it is a possibility in the future, though I myself would prefer to have a more stable home. Don't know where yet, but then I've got all the flats and appartments to go through college and uni in.
I'm quite proud of the neatness of my room. Not many other people my age can say that. I'll be getting a webcam at some stage, so people'll be able to see it if they want.
Erm...
*Thinks about how to leave, seeing as he didn't teleport in...*
*Decides to just go...*
Well, I'd best be off. I'll pop round during school tomorrow.

Actually, culling becomes a bit addictive. I had my sancrosanct areas, too, but with a little prodding, I cleared them out and actually feel good about it. It's also progressive. The first time through, you throw out the most obviously useless things. The next time, some of the previously precious things suddenly look dispensible. It's too bad the virtual tour didn't show the basement - you would be shocked at how clear and organized it is. It does feel good to be down there, though.
Now books, that's a different matter. (Actually, I have culled those alot too.)

Cheers, prof, see you later!
My kitchen is a thorough mess just now. I've spent more time than usual either at the machine or out in the garage culling. And so, in a Lenten mood, I have photographed my kitchen at its worst (but it's still germ and mould free!). I am now off to ezboard to post the link. And then, after I've fed the dog, and washed the dishes, I'll be back.

'Bye Professor!
Yes, books. What is it about books? I seem to have commandeerede half the attics in the Western Hemisphere to store my books.

Simulpost!
Bye, Chris. I have to go now too.
*Gives Amy a cup of tea and a large portion of sympathy*
Hope whatever it is passes. Wish I could stay and help.

And simulpost again.
Just had to look at Lil's kitchen before I left. Lil, I must say that, um, your fridge sure looks tidy.

I just want everyone to know that my full name is Jason Shane Forrester, that I'm fifteen years old, that I live in Boise, Idaho (USA), that my Internet company has just reached the point where it makes over a million dollars a year, that I go to a place called West Ridge Highschool, that my street adress is [address removed by moderator], and that I've just been named Valedictorian at my school, even though I'm only in the tenth grade.
April Fools. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Man, if only you'd all seen the looks on your faces that split second before you realized that it was an April Fools Day prank! Although, I sorta wish that I'd seen your faces too...oh, well...
I've moved a lot in my life as well. Seen a lot of country. I could probably tell you the best rest areas in the Central Time Zone and lower half of the Eastern Time Zone (in the United States) if I thought hard enough. I could also tell you some of the best truck stops in Illinois, I bet. Lemme think...I think there's a place called the "Sunshine Station," or something...hmm...
Hey, I just heard that moderation was being lifted, and that all of our old posts and guide entries were going to be brought back! The Zaphodistas won!!!
Okay, I guess you aren't that gullible. But it's worth a shot, right?

Morning all. Raining in Godzone. End of the golden weather I guess.
Surveys his tidy house. Mmmm, I had better keep quiet about it. The maid may read this and demand a raise. Ditto the gardener.

I think that there are two things I couldn't cull, my books and my cds.

Nice kitchen there Lil. I hope to have a kitchen one day, when I grow up (and stop living in a cluttered messy bedsit). There is always one room in the house that will be finished just as you move, in my sisters case this has been the kitchen. For the current house they're doing it up last just in case...

I just fed the dog, which is one of the washing-up times, so now I've posted an after picture. I guess to Garius there won't be any change.
Books! I can't believe how many I've culled and they seem to come home all by themselves.

Ah, books, good friends through good times and bad...
I must be going. I'm going to enjoy my last few hours of spring vacation while I still can. Methinks I'll try to get a few more emblems in Sonic Adventure...
