h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

The Adventuers Inn is the most famous Tavern in all of Warwickshire.
Run by Granite Ironfist the Dwarf, it is frequented by some of the most powerful people ever to step foot in Warwickshire and also some of the lowest.

The Inn claim to fame is it's boast that it serves every drink known to Dwarf or Man and to this day they have still yet to be proved wrong.

There is only one rule in the Inn, NO FIGHTING.
Anybody not obeying this rule will soon find himself coming face to face with the Inn's Half-Ogre Doorman, Tiny, that is when they will realise what reall fighting is.

The Inn is also the home of The Warwickshire Job Board.
A cork board set on the wall next to the bar, the job board serves as an advertising centre for those looking for employment and those looking to employ.
Anyone is welcome to post on the job board for any reason and even General James Warwick himself is known to advertise for people there from time to time.

*A striking woman dressed entirely in black velvet and rough silk enters, and sits down at the bar.*

*Granite the dwarf Steps up behind the bar*

Good Morning....
What can I get ya, love....

*Smiles sweetly.*

A glass of water for now... a room for the night.

And perhaps some information...

*Granite smiles showing the scars across his face*

Of course.....

*He reaches beneath the bar and pulls up a jug of cold water and a glass*

We have a couple of rooms free, m' lady.

*from out of the back room walks a lumbering 8ft tall ogre wearing a black suit and carrying a large spiked club. Granite nods his head towards the ogre and turns back to Scandrea*

Like I was sayin....
We 'ave a couple of rooms free.
So no problem with that...

But what information you after...?

*Shairi nods politely to the ogre, and takes a sip of water.*

I would simply like to know the name of the ruler of this city. I am new in town, and I do not yet know the ins and outs of my new surroundings.

*Enters and, with confident strides, makes his way to the bar*

Barkeep, a flaggon of your finest and and room for the night

* Hurries to get the thirsty man his drink, 'accidentally' bumps into the black clad woman and spills some drink over her *

Oh, I'm terribly sorry mylady, allow me to clean that

*Pinches some 'items' while fussing over the lady with a napkin*

Here's your drink, Sir

*Pinches them right back while B's serving the other man.*

You should be more careful- you don't always know what you'll find.</>

*takes his drink*

Why thank you miss.

*Bob downs his drink in one and turns to the rather atractive lady in the black*

You're good, I really had to concentrate to see you take that stuff back

...But you know, there are some events where it is really better to look the other way.

I find it's always good to know what the other person is capable of

*Jack walks into the bar, stirght up to the job board and pin's his C.V to the board useing a 10" nail, then over to the bar for a drink*

Ahoy Barkeep a large Earl gray, ice and lemon, oh with a straw!

Excuse me a minute

*walks over to look at the notice board to see if there are any jobs catering to his particular abilities going availible, and, after making a note of the jobs listed, wanders back over to his drink and the lady at the bar*

Ahoy Bar Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep


whats a bloke got to do to get a drink here in this bar, yodal for it!

*turns to the yodeling fool*

You want a drink?

*enough of the fool*


nope! I want 2 now

*The captain of the city guard sat in the corner drags his eyes from his pint to the assembled other drinkers*

Oi, you lot *he slurs* getcha selves outside to another place iffen you have a problem

*he lets his eyes settle on the women in black for a moment, before shaking off a thought and letting his eyes slide back to his drink*

*Lilandra wanders in. See no-one behind the bar and walking behind the counter.. helps herself to damp cloth to wipe the ink stains from her hands*


*looks up and finds this man staring at her*


*looks around and notices that there are only a few customers in the bar*

They must all be up at the school </>


*pulls a pint ... and as she places it on the bar and rough hand reaches out and grabs her wrist*

"I said I want 2 drinks" said the man



*So Lilandra pulled a second pint and carefully placed it on the counter*

*She glares back at this man*


How dare he touch me!!.. I will have him arrested!! </>

*Shairi watches Lilandra's reaction with interest- certainly the target, no doubt about that. Only an elvish royal would react like that. But here...

She glances around. Far too crowded, and the guards in the corner were far too armed. She could wait. Patience is a virtue. She takes another sip of water, and throws a few coins on the bar.*

That should pay for my room.

*Stalks upstairs.*
