I don't have a TV and haven't made it to the theatre in.. uhm.. several years. The only time I get to watch the things is when I'm either in the local Wal-Mart, at Dad's, or at Bubby's, and usually just find the whole bit annoying.

(Who wonders what possibilities there are of actually -seeing- this movie we're making! )

Siguy, you are obviously addicted. I recommend some excercises to work on it. Let's start small. When your favorite TV show comes on, go do something else, such as riding a bike, taking a walk, watching the sun rise/set, reading a book, etc. After doing that a few times, just wait and see what happens. Then come back.

Siguy Posted Mar 11, 2000
Ummm, NO!!!!!!!!! Besides I can quit anytime I want, see I just looked away from the TV to type this sentence. Ha! Besides, even if I wanted to stop watching tv, your plan has flaws.
Not watching my favorite TV show wouldn't be the answer. It would make more sense to not watch all the crap (aka 75% or more of TV). Or atleast some of the crap. That way I would have a healthy amount of viewership. But I don't want to, and I am afraid that there are still enough basic human rights to prevent someone I write an online story with on the internet from assuming power of attorney over me and having me committed.

Hm.. I used to be a TV addict.. then they replaced "Ally McBeal" with a silly, swedish serie, and then they replaced my other favourite with Ricki Lake!!!!!
I dunno, TV disappointed me.. I'm planning an awful revange!!!!

TV is supposed to be entertainment, for when you have nothing else to do - it's not something which you should feel compelled to watch when there are other things to do! (Unless you're supposed to be doing housework - then you might want to watch TV instead )

Wow, I came here looking to make a movie and now I just want a Rolling Rock)33( and a jam stuffed onion. I watch TV, but only when it's turned off.
. (open credits, black fade in, camera pans across a picnic scene, a beer, an onion, and a bottle of jam are in the basket)
Girl: I'm so glad we came out here, but what did you want to tell me?
Boy: Well, it all started as I was stuffing my onion...

(Well, we've already got three going. Think we should see how Shedunnit ends/begins before starting another one and/or debating television addictions?)

Siguy Posted Mar 13, 2000
(I mean I haven't even been contributing to Shedunnit in a little while and it was I who used to be saying, "CONTRIBUTE!" I guess I just got bored, so I don't really see a third story as a good idea unless we have some new writing blood coming in.)

There are a lot of different ideas we could come up with for stories, and just because they're there, doesn't mean we all are required to contribute if we're not interested.
For instance, Shedunit is the first one we've worked on that actually has a *gasp* plot. It's a bit of a challenge, and fun, to try keeping things somewhere within the binding endpoints and keep some sense of reality.
Has anyone ever read Thieve's World? We could try going for something along that premise.
We could have a different story for several genre's.. We have a mystery, we have a complete silliness (two), we could go for a completely new Science Fiction novel, a Fantasy novel, a forward Romance, Action/Adventure...
We could do stories with known flavours.. you've probably all at least seen parts of the 007 spin-offs. We could do some here... Sherlock... Brother Cadfael... Mrs Marple .. StarTrek(s)... whatever.. you get the idea.
What happens here in the Gam Room is limited only by the imagination of its dwellers... and I can't say as I've seen the limit yet.

What kinda book is "The thieves world"?? (Nope, I havn't read it..)
I have a confession to make: I didn't read that "Shedunnit" (???) story... maybe I realised it was there too late, or maybe I was in a hurry when it got started, or maybe... whatever the reason is, I didn't read it. But I'm in for some fantasy or science fiction or something else...
We used to write some stories like this in English class some years ago, when we were learning this crazy language.. (that caused some problems, as we never agreed about what "to do" really meant) and my little experience tells me that the story usually gets crazy.. (starting as a cheesy love story and ending with someone trying to escape from CIA with a bomb that is going to blow up all the computers in the world)

What about HOMEWORK?? I defintately prefer watching TV to do silly pieces of integration.. wich I don't understand at all anyway.
BUT, since I'm in "war" with the TV, I've started to teach myself to play the guitar instead...

Siguy Posted Mar 14, 2000
Through out my life I have always done homework in front of the TV, sure you may occasionly make a stupid error, but atleast your don't start spitting out integers in your sleep.
Let's make a movie!
Vakuum Posted Mar 14, 2000
Yeah? Did you get any integers at all that way? Though doing them while playing guitar doesn't work very well either.

ted.tfl3.113713 Posted Mar 14, 2000
If you could develop a way to solve math equations by using a guitar, it would not be a far step to make a movie about it (or perhaps a tv hit sitcom).
