h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

*nods briskly and flashes a rare smile at Lumien before walking purposefully outside*

*once outside the cottage she climbs down into the basins of one of the great lakes, the heat burns her skin but once she is in the waist-deep water she can ignore the scalding pain*

*again the rational side of her rages at this insane decision....she cannot withhold this power without a bargaining chip, she knows that...*

*sighing she kneels in the water until it is over her head and closes her eyes, she searches in herself until she finds the void of blackness, she wraps herself in it's comforting embrace and begins talking to the water*

I Hope she knows what she is doing

*Closes her eyes and trys to keep the water safe for Syian*

*Lumien leans out the window and watches.*

What in the name of everything holy is she doing?

*Drogheda watches as well. Lumien turns to Craxus.*

Do you know anything about this? She's half water sprite if it helps.

*The High Lord turns back to her.*

<*sigh* OK- for the next gen fratboy... Syian is half water sprite, so she's attempting to stop the lakes and river from boiling off. Meanwhile, Elandra has made us special water-enchanted weapons to fight Nick with. That's the blog summary I thought of- anyone else got anything? Sorry for the snide remarks, but it's Rush week here, and there's some people I want to knock some sense into.>

*Looks dumbfounded at Degrom, and then back at the lake Syian disappeared into. Whatever she's doing seems to be having some effect, but the water is still scalding.*

She's going to cook alive in there!

Should I throw in some diced carrots and parsnips?

*Glares at Degrom* I don't ever want to hear like that out of your mouth again. That's my friend, and she's putting herself in serious danger for my sake, and for yours. And the next time you open your mouth to say something so inconsiderate, you'll be out there with her. Am I being clear?

*Turns her attention back out the window. She is still holding her dagger and short sword from the armory.*

I'll gladly leave!

*struts towards the door*

I'm ready with the ice winds if it gets out of hand

*Glares at Degrom*

Prehaps you'd like it back in your cell

I am in my cell! This is just a dream.

Do you not feel the heat? Do you not see the lakes drying up? This is reality!

*Slaps Degrom across the face with her open hand, hard enough to turn his head.*

*Not wanting to get involved here, shrugs on his now dry cloak and breastplate, then wanders outside. Is shocked at what he sees. Most of the water is gone, except for one pool. Through the boiling surface, Syian can just be made out. She seems in extreme voluntary danger.*

*Waits in case she needs help.*

*Degrom, unphased by the slap, wanders outside*

It's not that hot. A little humid maybe. And anyway, one can't be hurt in a dream.

*Hesitates, but steels herself, and slips her dagger into the sleeve of her robe before stepping outside. She had to protect her friend.*

Elandra, I hope this works...

*Rounds on Degrom.*

I've had enough of this, Kazinishi would you take Degrom back to his cage please, he seems to be missing it

*Stares in wonder then slaps her head*

I don't believe I've been so stupid

*Runs back inside grabs a bottle and goes back to the others, uncorks the bottle and the smoke rises and forms dark black clouds, mutters an incantation, it starts to rain, hard, in fact it becomes a monsoon*

Everyone back inside, don't worry about Syian, look the Mer-Warriors are guarding her
