A cottage built of coral blends into the furthest wall of the outpost, here is where Lady Shaylar comes to get away from the guild and to get back intouch with the elements, inside the walls are smooth, the cottage has 3 rooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bedroom, all lavishly furnished and lovingly cared for

*Shaylar enters her hideaway cottage, she unpacks some food and drink from the bag and put's it away in a small kitchen cupboard, she moves back into the living room and starts to clean it*

*She moves into the bedroom and lies on the bed, which is made from a very large oyster shell*

I am so tired

*Drifts off to sleep*

*Wakes and streaches*

That's better, too much exercise of the last few days

*Gets up and decides to have a walk around the outpost, Leaves*

*Comes back, picks up her bag, goes into the kitchen and fills the food cupboard with ice, tidy's up and leaves*

*A rip appears in the fabric of space and Shaylar drags the pathetic figure of Degron Hapt into her home, she undresses him and lifts him into her bed, she wanders into her kitchen grabs a bowl and some spell ingrediants and starts to incant a shield spell masking their presance in the outpost, she grabs another bowl and andd some herbs to the water, returns to the bedroom and starts to bathe the burns on Degron*

*Hapt heals veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery slowly*

*Cools the room down to help heal the burns*

*Degron stirs, Shaylar turns to look at him, the burns have almost disappeared, he is sleeping more peacefully*

Why would anyone do this to another person

*Sighs*

Such a handsome man deserves better than Patricia DuBois

*Dagrom opens his eyes, glancing about the polished coral walls

*Shaylar enters with food and wine*

Ah you are fully awake now,

*Puts the food infront of Degron*

I am Lady High Elementalist Shaylar Kareen, from the guild, this is my house, we rescued you from the realm of death, I brought you here to let your wounds heal,

*Indicates to the food*

Please eat, I will try and answer any question you have, from what you've told me you were imprisoned for a long time

Oh, that infernal magicians guild. That is the cause of all my woes. Tell me, does Patricia know I have been freed?

She shouldn't, there is a masking spell around the house

*She gently touches the healing scars on Degron's face*

I know you have no faith in the guild but things have changed since your time, we are not what you remember, please believe me when I say I only wish to help you

*Pours some wine and holds the goblet to his lips*

Is High Lord Dahon Waddon still in charge? It was with he that the Baron made the arrangements. I remember there was another necromancer there that broke apart an altercation I had with a young healer. That necromancer took the DuBois' seat on the council, infuriating the Baron.
Tell me, is my manor house still standing? It was under construction when I came to Imardin, hoping that living apart from her father would be good for Patricia.

High Lord Dahon Waddon no he's not the high lord, Lord Craxus is, he was with me when we rescued you, infact I think he was the High Council member that broke you and Lord Polonius up during the fight, I'm only going by what he told me, Come to think of it he must have been the Necromancer who took the DuBois seat on the council,

*She twists the corner of the sheet absent mindedly*

I maybe 200 years old but I was in hibernation for 100 of them, I do remember a Baron DuBois, an elderly man, coming to visit my father when I was a child, father didn't have much time for the DuBois family, they intermarried and cut themselves off from other magicians, father didn't like that kind of attitude and Omar, his bodyguard had no time for necromancers, he warned me never to get involved with them or with death magic

*Smiles softly*

I was never any good at taking advice, now where abouts was your villa being built

The house was within the city limits, near the market but on the opposite side from the Guild Hall.

*ponders*

So, Craxus is the High Lord. What became of that Healer? I suppose he's on the HIgh COuncil by now.

Polonius, he runs a magic shop in Imardin, he left the guild, probably due to the trouble with you and Craxus, he's only just rejoined, when you are well enough you can come back with me to Imardin and see if your house is still there

Tell me about you

I am Dagron Hapt, a mildly powerful necromancer from the northern-most regions of this country. My aunt is the Baron's wife, Patricia's mother. My family practices necromancy in private while running a large vineyard and vinegar works, employing most of the townspeople. Due to a lack of what he deamed "worthy batchelors", I was called upon by the Baron to marry his daughter or suffer a plague on our vines. To prove his point, one perfectly square acre withered and died the night after his visit.
I traveled to the DuBois manor to meet the Baron. There he told me to deliver a letter to the High Lord of the Magician's Guild and return married to his daughter. When I went to Imardin, I met with the High Lord and Patricia, but she ran away and I couldn't find her bedroom. I went to an agent in town and purchased a large house being built in a wealthy neighborhood, hoping to impress Patricia. When I was searching for her, I was assaulted by that Polonious, trying to protect her. I didn't want to fight him, but I couldn't return without Patricia.
Craxus stepped in and told me that Patricia had run away into the city. I searched for her, finding her in an empty tavern. There, she sealed me in that horrible cage and cast me into the Realm of the Dead. I find it strange that no other necromancers have been that way before you came. It felt like I had been there for a century.


What about you?

No one will tell me about what happened with Patricia, Craxus and Polonius, I only know what Craxus told me and I doubt that was the whole truth

*Smiles*

I'm Lady Shaylar Kareen my father was Squire Thomas Kareen, he was an elementalist, my mother was a caretaker I have a little of her power but I'm a full elementalist, My father was a good man he took care of the villagers, gave the Farmers, Smiths and Millers the elements they needed, any problem the villagers had they knew they could come to him and he'd help

*Sighs*

He left to help the Guild fight the Darknes that invaded the land back then, before he left he and other magician's cast a tenfold spell on me to extend my life so I could keep defending our home, Mother and I were left incharge of defending the village, about a year later we'd heard he'd been captured and had taken his own life rather than have the darkness use it, but they knew of me and came for me, we fought them off but we couldn't defeat them, so we gathered all the village into the manor house and I cast a spell wrapping the house in magic inhanced ice, the only way the spell can be broken is if the darness leaves our land

*A tear rolls down her face*

That's when I can see my mother again

*Wipes the tear away and sniffs*

I was very weak after that so I used the last of my magic to cast a hibernation spell while my magic restored it's self, 100 years later I woke up and came to the guild

Did you have a lady of your own that you wanted to marry, despite your families wishes

Quite the opposite. My parents wished me to marry well and wisely, yet after the visit of the Baron (I was ten at the time) the people of the town were terrified of defying the Baron's wish that I marry his daughter. If I have been in that cage for as long as I think, all the once-lovely ladies of the town are probably withered and dead by now.
