A matching set, with glass knobs and a drooping neckline.

Hey, no problem. Though my conscience would rest easier knowing you weren't so...thick in the battle. Leave it to the professionals *said in a sardonic tone*.
Do you have your bow? Then we'll get bcak to some tactics.

Scandrea Posted Aug 29, 2004
*winces* I wasn't exactly planning on getting kidnapped in the dining hall.

*looks strange, like a cat who's been watching a bird all morning only to have the bird suddenlt explode, taking out most of the front garden.*

*bursts out laughing, then calms down*
I suppose not everyone carries theirs with them, almost everywhere...*laughs once more*
*becomes more serious*
I'm sure the armoury - it'll be next to the forge - have some you can use, though I /doubt/ they'll be as good as can be. I'll see what spare time I have.*tries to hide her smile*
So, tactics? Had any of you had ideas?
The Coral Cottage
Scandrea Posted Aug 29, 2004
I've made do before.
I suppose the first thing we need to do is find out where he is. I'd send Chandra for surveillance, but he already recognizes her from our last little skirmish, and knows what she can do.

I've had ideas. I've had lots of them; but where they've all gotten to is anybody's guess.

Why not dress down and masquerade?
The Coral Cottage
U521150 Posted Aug 29, 2004
*nods*
If only we had a Caretaker...*shakes her head, her face sad and turned to the floor suddenly* Any way to disguise her? I have Ninian, my phoenix, but he's not the most.....subtle of winged creatures.
*looks up at *
Masquerade? As what, would be my question. But it could be done, depending on where he is. If he is only surrounded by orcs, then we'd need an Illusionist to make our success truly...possible.
Does anyone know the size of his army?
The Coral Cottage

As orcs, but probably not orcs with plunging necklines.
The Coral Cottage
U521150 Posted Aug 29, 2004
*smiles slightly*
I don't know about you, but I find pretending to be an Orc....difficult. For one thing, I don't know the language. As hard as I've tried.
Again, army size? Do you know?

Personally, no. I've been the dirty bird for the past century and a half.

Lady Elandra may I introduce Degrom Hept, we found him in a cage in the realm of death he's been put there by an enraged fiancee and I think he's a little unhinged
*Whispers*
Ignore him for now, when Lumien is stronger I'll ask her to take a look at him
**Normal voice*
I will help in any way I can lady, but I do echo Lumien's warning about Nick, the fear he induces in women, excites him he needs that fear to enhance his power, the only reason I got out in one piece was because I showed him no fear, I was quaking inside but tried desperatly not to show it and that worked, but it will not work for me again, he will either leave me alone or dream up some god awful other worldly torture for me.

*nods to Degrom*
I...*clears her throat, thinks for a few seconds*
If even you, Lady shaylar, were frightened, then I probably would be too. But my predecessor at the magicians guild, Owen Ledyard, developed something that will in all probability help. A...fear-deadening amulet. It /nulls/ the more distracting emotions in battle - fear, dread, anxiety, that sort of thing - and leaves a kind of calm. I think I've mentioned it before.
*shakes her head* I don't know how long it will take me but I can make a few. And if he has this kind of effect...then it may not be total. But I'm sure it will have some effect, and something is better than none.
Let us hope he chooses to leave you alone.
*smiles deviously* If he is this evil, this depraved, this debased...and he has this affect on /any/ woman...then meeting a fearless Warrior will have /quite/ the affect on /him/, I'll wager.

Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted Aug 30, 2004
I think it will, I offered myself to him with the hope of fighting him but he turned me down and insted went for Lumien, that's where I made my assumption about his power and lust for frightened women
The Coral Cottage
U521150 Posted Aug 30, 2004
Excellent. Then these amulets might very well come in handy, very much so - take away his power-base. Then whilst I shock him with my fearless attack of him, and try to disarm him of his flaming sword, we - mostly you - attack him with water, and take away another power.
Personally, I /do/ see what's so fearsome about said flaming sword. *draws the left longsword out of it's scabbard a couple of palm's lengths, enough to see the hot flames curling along the blade*
*smiles and puts the sword back*
That plan is all and good...but if the army is at all big, then I can't fight him /and/ several thousand orcs. He's a necromancer? Then he might even try to summon dead to help him, even though they're one of the weakest things. Weak when in numbers, strong when there's only one. *grins*
*the smile fades* And we still don't know where he would be. Where he is. He's part of the Dark Alliance? Then this task maybe far harder than we thought...if he is in Yurick Virg Mackz. If so, then...then we should forget this and find the other members of the guild, and press to destroy the entire outpost. *shakes her head, a dour expression on her face* We can only hope he's not in the outpost, or even in the outskirts.

*Lumien listens with interest, and watches the enchanted blade in something that looks like harmless envy.*
The Coral Cottage
U521150 Posted Aug 30, 2004
*nods, almost to herself*
So, what do we have, in respect of finding where they are? We have ourselves, of course, and though we may be able to pick up on rumours and such of a badly-hidden orc army there's not much we can do in the way of spying on said army unless we're very ready to attack. We have our familiars - Lumien, your hawk, is it? Chandra? Shaylar's cat, Masky...my lion, Alden. Even though Chandra and Alden - Alden especially - would be suspicious, given Alden's size and Chandra's notoriety, Masky is small enough to go relatively unnoticed. And all three of them can still use the animal kingdom for a spy network, in the way a caretaker might. We could ask the birds and felines, at least, even though other families of animals would be closed to us.
*she concentrates for a second and a huge lion appears by her side, lying down in the same relaxed way she is*
What do you all think?
The Coral Cottage
Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted Aug 30, 2004
I agree but we have no Caretaker here, Lycan is away in Yurick and no one has seen Wolf for an age,
*Masky Taps Lady Elandra on the foot*
[Masky] Rat's are your best bet for information Lady, they will sell any information for a price, food is usually their price, or the threat of being eaten, I will go and see if I can find something out for you if you want
