That's great, Emee. I know WW is a good program. I'm glad it's working so well for you.
Now, for Pimms and anyone else who is interested...

This is a great article about fickle scales and weight trends and averaging. It's a bit long, but it sure has good information for anyone wanting a true picture of their weight-loss progress.

Emee, have you been here?

It's a good web site that works with the meetings programs.

Down a quarter pound this morning - after an UP day!
I am losing "new" weight again. That calls for a big WooHoo! My weekly average should drop nicely.

Here's my weekly update. It was a good week for me. I just finished averaging my weights and am down 1.71 pounds. Yay!!!!!!
I also hit a new JUDDDD low and got into a lower 10 pound range. Friday, once again, saw my lowest weight for the week, so I was up a pound again this morning. But one pound is good. There have been times when I saw it go up 3 pounds. I think that was the highest in any one day. I've also lost 3 pounds overnight. We really do act like sponges sometimes. The trend is what shows our progress or lack thereof - not any individual day's weight. And my trend is creeping downward.
Not sure if anyone lurks here that I saw this spring at the meeet or not. If so, I'm 14 pounds lighter than when you saw me. And 3 pounds away from that 3 stone mark.

It took 194 days to lose the last 20 pounds. That's really slow. Less than a pound a week. But, the alternative would have been NOT to lose it. And I've eaten pretty darn good during that time and only dieted 3-4 days a week. And had some breaks in there where I didn't diet at all. So, not bad results.
I try to keep things in perspective like that when I get frustrated at how slow it is for me. I remember that the alternative is not losing at all or even gaining, which is a lot worse. And I remind myself that when it comes off fast, it goes back on fast, too. The slower we lose weight, the more likely it is to stay gone.
Being a tortoise is not necessarily a bad thing.

This was a good week for me, as well. After bouncing up a bit (as usual) I hit my JUDDDD low on the morning following a down day and stayed there on the next morning following an up day. Not going up after an up day is a very good omen.
Sure enough, after the next down day, I hit a new JUDDDDD low by a drop of a full pound. And this morning, after the next up day, I again was treated to no increase!
And most importantly to the ol' psyche, I am exactly 150 lbs, so I slid that big counter weight over one notch to the left!

for you both. I haven't weighed for two days. It would only discourage me. We went to the State Fair yesterday and ate "Fair Food". No way am I going to the Fair without eating a Polish sausage--my all time favorite. I'll weigh next week.

That's great news, Witty. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have some pretty good news today myself. I have officially lost 40 pounds! I'm chuffed. 2 pounds to that magic number. If I wasn't still so fat, I'd stop at 42. It would be appropriate.
Keep those down days down and those up days up.

Sounds like we all had a bit of success--some more than others.
I am down one pound from last week--even with eating "Fair Food", so I feel rather .
I have a wedding to attend today and they are serving lunch. I promise to be good.

I don't think it is likely I'll ever reach that kind of weight loss I have been fortunate to be able to start my weight loss within spitting distance of my target weight. The speed of approach appears asymptotic, if not retrograde
.
After twelve weeks back to 10 pounds lost, 1.5 pounds up on last week, but that is mostly WWG (weekend weight gain). Confident I can lower it again with an abstemious weekend - have been 2.5 pounds lower a couple of times in last week.

Lady Chattingly Posted Sep 17, 2007
Keep the faith, Pimms. WWG is a usual thing for me, but this week end, it wasn't. What a pleasant surprise.
The wedding was beautiful. The munchies at the reception were tasty--finger foods. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious. I was good--promise.

I hit the 10 down mark yesterday but I'm up a pound today. I have noticed a pattern. I level out for a few days and then drop a pound. We'll see if the pattern holds.

Pimms, I think the nearer a person is to their ideal weight, the harder it is to lose. Jut remember that if you weren't doing this, you'd be 10 pounds heavier right now. And I have a question. Is there one day of the week that usually shows your low weight? If so, then I'd make that my official weigh-in day. For me it's generally Friday. So if I decide to use just one day for a weigh-in, I'll pick Friday.
Emee, that's what I do. I go up and down like a yoyo. But as long as I keep losing more than I gain, it works out okay. Congratulations on those 10 pounds! WooHoo!
Stuffed mushrooms?

I think I'll stick with the Mondays to chart progress. It helps concentrate the resolve (a bit) if there has been WWG. I nodded sagely when reading the link you copied Hyp. Smooth out the fluctuations and look at the moving average. Oh yes
I was bad today as I succumbed to a snack (lemon drizzle
), but I was good
because it was only a thin slice, and although I cut a second slice I didn't eat it. Although on down days I tend to have about three
sprinkled with salt today I tweaked it a bit and added lime pickle to one
. I'm sure pickle has considerably more calories than salt, but I told myself I don't have much. I shouldn't have written about it - I want some more now.

I love lemon cakes and cookies. I would have succumbed, too.
I forced to pick one flavor for desserts to stick to exclusively it would be lemon. Years ago it would probably have been chocolate. But as I age, I have learned to appreciate other flavors more. Not that I dislike chocolate. Perish the thought. Fortunately, I don't have to choose just one.
I'm glad it's nearly fall. This gives me an excuse to make applesauce and spice cakes.

Mid sized portabello mushrooms stuffed with crab meat and veggies.
Shrimp cocktail--not those teeny weeny shrimps either. Chicken on a stick with peanut sauce, grilled squash, mushrooms, onions, etc., prime rib sandwiches on rolls with choice of dijon or yellow mustard or a horseradish mayo. There was a massive cheese and fruit tray with a honey dipping sauce, regular tea and sweet tea (for the southerners) and an open bar with unlimited trips back.
The bride was beautiful, the groom was handsome and the groomsman was handsomer! (Mother's perogative and bragging rights. My son was the groomsman.)
