I'm still maintaining - not losing, not gaining. I have decided to be happy with where I am until after the holidays. Then I'll get serious about it again.

The wonderful thing is that I am maintaining without any effort. That is totally awesome in my book. smiley - ok

Pimms, you're really close to your ideal weight. It is going to be harder for you to lose than if you had 50 pounds to drop. I think you're doing great. smiley - hugsmiley - cheers

Last week at WW weigh-in, I had gained .8; this week I lost that .8 and 2 more pounds.

Trouble with all this is that I'm not even trying to lose weight, and not paying a lot of attention to the points, either. I'm so confused...

42 pounds lost since June 20! 1 pound to reach my revised goal. Actually wearing size 6 jeans! I have never worn a size 6.

Hypatia, I can't thank you enough for letting us know about JUDDDD. smiley - smooch

Witty, that is fabulous! JUDDDD is a perfect way of eating for me. I'm so glad it turned out to be a good fit for you, as well. smiley - hug

Size 6! I am soooooooooo jealous. I'll get there, though.

I am eating way too much since Mother came to 'visit'. Partly because I am trying to encourage her to eat and am cooking things I normally don't, and partly because I am eating every day again. Anyway, if she doesn't go home soon I'm afraid I'll start gaining again. I had actually lost another couple of pounds in spite of it being December.

JUDDDD works, but you have to stick with it. Witty and I are both proof of that. 3 stone each. Yay!!!!!!!

That's 'still' a good result, Pimms. You didn't have a lot to lose to begin with. And that is enough to improve things like blood pressure, blood sugar, etc. So, a hearty congratulations to you! smiley - applause

Plus, I don't have to smell all that artisan bread baking on down days like you do. smiley - tongueout

And, knowing how to maintain a weight loss is just as important as losing it in the first place.

I broke into a new decade today! I feel so great about this that I am not going to worry one bit about the holidays. I've already had to flip a few days around to accomodate events and I have some back to back events coming up. I'll eat what a like, do down days when I can and worry about it on January 1. smiley - boing

Exactly. One of the things that is so great about JUDDDD is that it's easy to get back on board. And it works so well for me that I have learned that if I go up a couple of pounds, big deal. It will come right back off. Maintenance is a snap.

I actually look forward to my down days. Right now, for example, I am feeling rotten because my system has gotten used to down days and is protesting not having any for a few days. Our bodies really do like to have a rest from digestion. Since I've been on JUDDDD for so long, I feel bloated and headachy and always get indigestion when I go off of it. As soon as I get Mother back to her own house, I'll need a couple of down days to start feeling better again. And come January, I fully expect to start dropping weight again at a good clip.

26 weeks Christmas Eve, bit of wwg, up a pound and a half (9.5 lbs lost) - posting this day after boxing day, the wwg hasn't disappeared (nor increased smiley - smiley), but then I'm not trying to do down days this week.

"Dr. Johnson's new 288-page hardcover book is titled The Alternate-Day Diet and is scheduled for publication in April, 2008. The ISBN number is 0399154930, and the EAN number is 9780399154935. Well, after almost 7 weeks on WW, I'm down 6.2. I've been trying to do the "renegade" WW plan, also known as the Wendie Plan (whose structure works out to something very like the JUDDDD). Hasn't been possible up to now to do it as much in proportion as JUDDDD, though, as I've been cooking dinner for my roomie and I.

She gained some weight last week, so she doesn't want me cooking for her anymore. Funny that I didn't gain any weight, I lost last week.smiley - erm Is it my fault? Don't have a clue, but we've eaten the same dinners, and she even exercises and I don't. Maybe it's muscle. smiley - smiley

Thanks for the tip off Witty. I haven't logged on to Traineo for ages. It got to be too much to keep up with and was the same thing over and over.

SC, That is a nice result. Congratulations! smiley - applause

I am so not dieting this week. I'll get back on board on the 2nd.

Didn't Judder last week, so unsurprising that the "wwg" has accumulated to a backslide only showing 7.5 lbs lost after 27 weeks (a further 2 lbs gained). Hoping it will all disappear as quickly as it appeared ...

It's so hard to diet during the holidays. smiley - cross My carb intake is completely out of control!! I'm not going to smiley - wah about it--it's my own fault!

I haven't gained back everything, but I'm danged close! I stocked up on fresh veggies at the market the other day and found a new place to buy all kinds of seafood. The grocery stores here are pretty much limited in their selection--catfish, tilapia, salmon, shrimp, and crab legs. Sometimes we can get trout and shark steaks, but not often.
When we do find the steaks or red snapper it is soooo pricey! smiley - grr

Good luck to all who need it and congrats to those of you who persevered during the festivities. smiley - hug

I am up 2 pounds in the last 10 days, was as high as 3 pounds up at one point. Not bad considering I've thrown JUDDDDD out the window for now. The earliest I intend to get back on the plan is Friday, but it will more likely be next Monday. smiley - biggrin

Okay, I started the year up 3 pounds from my JUDDDD low. I would rather not have those 3 pounds to re-lose, but that isn't dreadful, considering the near impossibility of staying on schedule last month. I had the ice storm (no way to cook and had to eat out, then Mother (have to eat with her or she refuses to eat, either),then all of the holiday goodies. So I'm back down to a 40 pound loss overall. Still not too shabby.

It is clear to me now that after I lose the rest of this excess baggage, I am going to have another problem, loose skin. Madame president is going to need plastic surgery. Madame president can't afford plastic surgery. smiley - sigh Tummy tuck, butt and thigh lift, breast lift, batwing removal, wrinkles on neck - 60 grand. I am going to just have to make sure I keep my clothes on. smiley - winkeye
