Not very "erudite", as those connective clowns would say, Pan, but the best response yet
Not that they`ll appreciate it, of course, such a classy ass is wasted on `em....

Each to their own, I say.
And I'll have you know I'm not a faerie queen!

If Astro thinks that the Collective is better, why did he bother to come here? No site is perfect, as it would require only perfect people to be on it and we seem to have a shortage of perfect people. Remember, "Why do you observe the splinter in you brother's eye and never notice the plank in your own? How dare you say to your brother, 'Let me take the splinter out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own? Hypocrite! Take the plank out of your own eye first, and then you will see clearly enough to take the splinter out of your brother's eye" (Matt 7:3-5). The idea that one site is superior over the other is like comparing apples and olives. I say to you, Sir, that if you want War, then we shall want Peace.

Oddly enough I just came from a thread where I floated exactly the same idea.
Great minds.... or, as the case may be, Simple Minds .

[Agrees heartily with Pandora.]
Incidentally, I think Collective is a great name.

They're like the people from the Cricket planet, unable to see past they brown and grey, bent on distroying the universe because it is not one of them.

The lead article at Collective today is about killing terrorists in the privacy of your own home. It seems to be about children's video games and the likely effect they will have on the mindsets of the adults that today's children will grow into.
Obviously, the Collective is aiming at a far different audience than the one H2G2 is going after. There may be room for both audiences on the Internet. There may be places where they overlap.
But saying that one is *better* than the other? That's .
It's like saying a book is better than a film. Writer Dennis Lehane once said that a book is an apple, while a film is a giraffe.

Let them think whatever they want.
Sooner or later, they'll realize that bashing us is a total waste of their time.

It would be rather ironic wouldn't it?
If the entire of Collective devoted their energies to slagging off hootoo, claiming that hootoo is pointless .
A pleasing hypothetical.

Maybe they're just paranoid.
They're out to defend logic against the likes of us, who are constantly committing acts of terrorism against logic.

Congratulations on the first reference to Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy. I'll tick that off my list of anticipated responses.
Now, let's see...
"if you want war, we want peace"
-"want"? no, not want. "believe is necessary"? certainly. sometimes one must do what one finds distasteful; the self-satisfied nature of H2G2 needs popping. You can "want peace", but you've "got war". You can come here: [Broken URL removed by Moderator] and moan about it there. If it's not too scary to leave your hootoobubble.
"what...
we will never fall to the likes of them...
how dare thay think that"
1. Extreme arrogance.. oh, it's that whole "hootoo was here before and used the dna database technology before, and you wouldn't be here if .. blah blah".
"Sooner or later, they'll realize that bashing us is a total waste of their time.
2. Go to Collective, and find out why that statement is incorrect. The address is here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/collective
It's easy to find. Nothing is a waste of time if it deflates over-gassy balloons.
"If Astro thinks that the Collective is better, why did he bother to come here? No site is perfect"
3. Who said "better" was "perfect". A poor comparison. You don't react well to criticism, you lot, do you? You're so comfortable in your bloated, corpulent site, that as soon as someone comes along to tell you that, you get all blustery, and stick those murky yellow, badly drawn pictures all over the place, in place of words.
Why did I come here? I've been coming here for over a year. This place has grown dull, inflated with its own self-perceived success. It's time to clear out the deadwood.

We aren't terrorists, Astrotomato. Terrorism is the main theme of your home page, at least today.

I`d say that the "dead wood" has already been cleared out.
The receptacle is the collective.
And good riddance.
