IIEM, a - thanks *sips her vanilla latte*
Above freezing point during day time, melting the snow (there's still a lot of it) and below at night, all the slush and water turning back into ice... so I obviously need footwear that will give a good grip on ice and keep my feet warm in the morning, but something close to wellies when going home in the afternoon/early evening...

Yet another melodrama with my former PL's children. No point in going into it here, but let's just say that the menage (or menagerie) on the other side of the world has problems, and it is not yet clear how or indeed whether those are going to be resolved. It is however clear that the status quo cannot continue indefinitely.
I am surprisingly laid back about that. While there is nothing I would like more to have my former PL back in my life and my bed, it is clear that won't be happening for a good while yet, if at all, and if it ever does happen we will have to draw up fresh terms of egagement anyway.
However I have lost the 'eject' button on the Stepson, since there is nowhere stable for him to go to.
I am trying to provide him with a secure environment in the middle of all this insecurity, but it doesn't help that I am away four days a week now.
Why can't my life be simple?
And would I find it boring if it was?

IIEM, a glass of water please.
I'm very poorly again and I've got tons of stuff before I spend ten hours on a coach on Wednesday . I'm beginning to think this trip was a very bad idea .

for Amy. I hope you feel better by Wednesday.
I see you have relatives gainfully employed doing Post Office adverts

* for Ben* I take it how the Stepsons exam went is not a prime concern of yours or his?
Best wishes from A and Z

He thinks he creamed it, and to be honest, so do I. That said, all I am taking responsibility for is giving him an environment in which he can do as well as he chooses in his exams. How well he actually does is up to him, and will in fact make no difference to me.
That said, I do hope he does well in them, natch.

Ben its not how he did in the exams that is importent !but what he does with the knowledge he has got.Me i dont put much stock in any exams ,other than the "qualification" holder can apply himself
to a specific task.
Beside these "exams" will be of no importence 20 years from now ,it what he will learn from here that he will use.

True, ltp. And as I say, it is not my responsibility, thank the goddess. I am assuming 'creamed' means did well, though. The problems of vocabulary across a 20 year divide!

My students all did fairly well on their history exam. I am hoping that some of the credit for that goes for my teaching.

Reading all this reminds me that my one-year-leave from school will be over next week. Why on earth did I go to school in my age?

IIEM, do you happen to have anything that helps procrastination?
