The Aroma Café: Past Christmas

IIEM, double latte please. It's today...
*curls up in comfy chair*
Celebrities...
I saw Douglas Adams once, at a book signing. When it was my turn, and he asked what name he should make it out to, I was so awed by his presence that I couldn't get a word out . So he just put his signature, on the last page, upside down
.

T!
Yes, I met him...for about 10 seconds, I guess. I was 16 and very very nervous so I don't have a very detailed memory of the occasion . But I remember that he was a lot taller than I expected.
So how are you these days? Except cold, of course...

IIEM, an after-lunch... thanks
*sits down with her vanilla latte*
Oh, I'm fine - got one of those very persistent colds, but otherwise fine - and you?

Hello Freedom.
That reminds me, I met Terry Pratchett at a book signing last year. But doing 'lanes' next to Michael Buerk was definitely the most memorable.
IIEM a Hot and the sun is threatening to shine here
. I want snow

Phil Posted Jan 27, 2004
The sun is very much shining here with bright blue skies. I do like this weather, made it very pleasant for the train ride into w**k

Hi Caerwynn, hi Phil
I'm quite good...not even a cold to complain about. Except the one outside of course. Very of Phil right now...there was sunshine here yesterday, but this morning it was overcast again, and snowing. Tiny sharp bits of ice

Sorry, but I read this incredibly funny parody of RotK - warning! It might be a spoiler if you haven't seen it yet!:

Prince Phillip raised an eyebrow at me once. It was in Windsor, 1983, when he was still doing competitive driving, and the car I was in got in the way of his rig.
IIEM, a Lil Special please.
The last national politician I saw personally was Richard Nixon when he was running for Pres in 1969. He came to my college. And he really did do that Victory-V thing with both arms. *shakes head*

Ooh, celebrity anecdotes:
At the age of fifteen I got into a Beautiful South after show party, and got a bit tipsy with the Beautiful South, Shed Seven and the London Community Gospel Choir.
I've met Dennis locorriere, the lead singer of Dr. hook
I once nearly knocked Michael Palin (ex-Monty python, travel writer) over in a Sunderland shopping centre after he'd done a book-signing- he's very very short, you know.

I didn't see your flake, but I did have a play with the program. That was on B3ta a while ago wasn't it?

I love that snowflake thing. So very soothing.
That LoTR thing was funny as all get out! I pay you to do two things, fight and look pretty!
T, I didn't hit LL Cool J on purpose. I was at a baby shower at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, which is not my usual haunt, and I turned suddenly and then what do you know...wham! My bag goes into his stomach, which is no small thing, given that there's a 700 page book on Boniface VIII in it! He was very nice about it, actually.
