It has been ages singe I had home roasted coffee. I guess I still have my coffee roasting pan somewhere... smiley - drool

I use my wok. The roast is a bit uneven, but delicious.

There was a period some 15 years ago when they sold only green coffee beans here. Back then it felt like a problem. Now it's impossible to find green beans. They sell mostly only ground coffee.

About 20 years ago I could only find one kind of Colombian green bean here in Tampa. Now it's impossible to find them locally, but thanks to the internet I can find a wide variety. I'd rather roast them myself. I'm thinking of getting an attachment for my mixer that will let me grind grain because I'd rather have freshly ground flour, too.

Umm, yes. The internet stuff is way too expensive for me though.

I agree, but I actually spend very little on luxuries. I'd rather have good coffee or food than almost anything.

Well, you see, I live in a slightly different part of the world in a very different average income country. smiley - winkeye

Yes, I understand, although the income differences are very wide within America, too. We just have a good bit available to us and the ability to move about to get to what we need.

*green jasmine tea please*

Coffee gives me terrible intestinal cramps, but I love the smell of it.

Y'all know I have two cats. Officially their names are Archer and Aitken which you also knew, but I realised the other day that they do actually answer to "evil minded little cat" and "you little bugger".

Oooops.

Not sure how you could insult your cats like that - actually considering I've spent a night with them playing with my feet..

I've recieved an e mail from a friend of mine who said she missed me "making everything seem inconsequential" Do y'all think that's a complement?

Hi, y'all. It's been a while since I stopped in and thought it was time to see how the old place is doing. I hear that the IIEM is talking these days! smiley - wow

IIEM, kona black, please.

*A piping hot cup of kona coffee appears without comment.*

Ah well, maybe later it will have something to say.

*Heads over to the deep purple sofa and takes a seat in front of the fire with the Sunday NY Times magazine section.*

Well, there is an interesting yet repulsive article about what beef cattle are fed in the US. I think I'll switch to a Kosher butcher.

What is this lump I'm sitting on?

*Digs around and under the velvet cushions and extracts a 2 year old copy of The New Zealand Herald.*

Hmmph! Looney must have left this. I'll throw it on the fire.
