Which bit of the Pacific are you in at the moment? I have a bit of a love affair with Polynesia - have written Guide Entries on Tonga and Samoa, as well as on Cargo Cults and a couple of other things

I think I'm in. Am I in?
So what happens now? My hands are clean.

You're in! And Welcome!
What happens now is that you write a flurry of entries about places in the world. If you want.
Really, that's it.
In the Members' Bar (A1337546) there's a listing of what areas our members have some knowledge of if there's something specific you're looking for. And there's some suggestions for things to do in the Map Room (A1286921).
Things have been somewhat slow lately. I don't have ownership of any of the pages so I can't add you to the ranks, but you can consider yourself a full member anyway

Okay, that last post is a bit misleading (well, at the time it wasn't). I *do* have access to edit the pages, but it being so close to the holidays it will be after the 1st before I get around to updating anything.
Meanwhile, feel free to enjoy all the priveleges of being a member.

AAaaaaaaaand.... we're back.
I've managed to get everyone on the dropdown list, I believe. I went back about two years and only added the ones I knew were still active. If I missed you - or if you'd still like to join and just haven't gotten around to it yet - just yell and I'll get you added soon(ish) (well, sooner than Six would, at any rate )
I have not updated the Members' Bar yet, that's on my list of Things To Do for the weekend. If you haven't mentioned a specialist area that's okay, if you'd like to list one that's okay, too. Please be specific about your area, and keep in mind I'm an American and a product of the American public school system (so I was taught that America is the centre of the Universe and everything else is a minor detail). If you tell me your specialism is Fredricktown, I'm probably going to need more direction. If your specialism is Johannesburg, I can probably figure it out.
In other words - Yes, you have a somewhat geographically challenged organiser of the Royal Geographical Society. (I like to think that as far as Americans go, however, that I am a pretty smart cookie.)
And I'll post some similar kind of announcement in the Members' Bar, but probably not until Friday or Saturday.
Welcome!

I'd like to join, but I don't know if I'll be particularly useful for anything- the idea just interests me. It does seem to be what h2g2 would be most useful for.
