DA ; Simply Vicky: Don't get pithy with me! Posted Mar 20, 2003
Well, when I was signing up for StarTrekmail back in 2001, I wanted to be Captain April, and they wouldn't allow it - it's obvious to me now - Captain Robert April, Captain of the Enterprise before Pike...
But April has been tacked on to Della on a couple of other fora. (Please note, Microsoft won't allow the proper plural of forum. It keeps changing it to 'for a'.

I just clicked on it, and got taken to a place of extreme weirdness! Waving flags, one of them labellled 'F*c* France' and some jerk-off remark about surrendering Iraqis... At first glance it looks very much like hostile territory for a peacenik or a non-American. So, I don't think I'll be seeing you guys there after all...

Hi skugga. Thank you very much. I would be honoured
Hi jwf. I seem to remember that you're a (or the) founder member of n2g2. Is it still going? I hope it is. It's one of the sites I've listed in the alternative forums guide entry on my page.
Hi Della. If you've signed up for ezboard, you'll find the two h2g2 retreats by searching for "The Temporary h2g2 Board" and "Goo Overflow". The sites are waiting to be woken up. I've checked to make sure they're working and Peet has even put up a page for me on the Goo site. Good luck brave Cat Woman! OOh and Egon. Almost simulposted there.
I hope the people of the US don't deny themselves Cuban music. They should not be deprived of "Buena Vista Social Club". Someone should send dubya one of the CDs. It might help him to take a more loving approach to the people he currently views as enemies.

Thanks, ShornCanary, I shouldn't have been so easily put off...
Dubya does need soothing - what's best do you think?

I think he's far to streesed to be running a country right now, and should hand control over to someone far more rational, intelligent, laidback and responsible. Like OZzy Osbourne..

Yes.
N2G2, which stands for Nowhere 2 Go 2, is a Yahoo group founded during the Great Vogon Detour of 2001. It has been, is and will forever be, a place to go when there's Nowhere else 2 go 2. Like the past month when the New York server made h2g2 inaccessible to many North Americans.
Yes N2G2 is alive and well. It is a place of last resort and always welcomes anyone. I have been reluctant to post a general invitation here in the current mood lest it be misread as a subversive act against h2g2. This would be contrary to our beliefs.
Yes, we always welcome old and new visitors and there is only one rule there.
1a. There are no rules.
1b. Because of that rule, be nice.
We also offer a disclaimer that persons under 18, or anyone with so little experience of life as to still have any hope for the planet and its people may find the content dismaying if not downright offensive.
The biggest flames there now are from the old backlogs which we occassionally throw on the fire to keep our handful of survivors addicted to the marshmallows.

Anyone with a Yahoo ID can 'join this group'. Anyone who was ever a member will still be listed as a member unless they 'cancelled'. We have never banned or deleted anyone. That's why it says we have 94 members and in fact there's only about a dozen hardcore campers still dozing round the fires. Bring marshmallows and curry favour.

I went to that site also from a link I got here. It does seem a tad on the hawkish side You should not Quit Della. Go in and give em hell. It is more of a learning experiance and challenge to discuss politics with diametrical view points. Of course you have to find the ones that are not brain dead or so extreme that they might as well be. Sometimes you even find you have more in common then you would think. At the least you can get a few people p****d off at you like I have managed to to on this thread.
