Something Positive?

OK, going off on a little mental wander here bit just have a think.

Although the international stage at the moment is full of countries having a 'free and frank exchange of views' I have noticed what seems to me to be a shift in the standpoint from which people are arguing. There is a lot of concentration on the concept of a unified front, be it coalition, UN or whatever. If we concentrate purely on where the arguments are coming from, do you think we are seeing a subtle change away from individual nations arguing purely from their own point of view, or from traditional alliances, towards a more global concern for what each country is up to? It seems, although the countries are all arguing, that the argument itself is is being done (can't think of the right word there) from a more global platform.
Could this conflict be bringing about a much closer interaction between the international communities than before? Not necessarily agreement, but at least a realisation of common issues, with everyone getting involved?

Sorry I haven;t put it that well, I don;t have the approproate concepts as have never studied international politics, but I shall attempt to refine as we go smiley - smiley

The fact that the global watchdogs of Nato and the UN are not being respected does not seem good but sometimes good things come out of rants and skirmishes. Maybe a better way or organization will come out of that.

I think the US keeping the unsupportive nations out of the bidding in Iraq has more to do with undoing Nato and the UN than punishing them individually.

The Eu has a big job to do and lets hope they know what they are doing, for all of our sakes. The only unifying talk I see is ;for or against the US. Something-someone is needed to show the US a kinder way. There are surley more options organization and real help for humanity.

The Global economy is not subtle, capitalism is not subtle. Neither seems to be based on human need or relieving suffering or even Democracy when it gets to the bottom line.

We can hope and use our voices for those whom have none.
We have nothing without that.
