A Conversation for Harry Potter

Swiv is right: Harry is going to be isolated because of what he has to do/who he is.

Ron and Hermione are a cert!
I'd like to see Ginny get over Harry and be a decent friend to him... (might happen when Ron and Hermione sort themselves out!)

I think Harry as a loner has potential. Though it would be nice if Ginny could be more of a main charcter (I think she's sweet), so she could be his fiend, but any real romance is likely to be right at the end after the evil has been defeated.

I think it's enough of a children's book - and a heroic story - for Harry not to die at the end, even if he is tarred by it forever.
The Future....
Tango Posted Dec 22, 2002
I don't think harry will die, JKR has said that a lot of people will, but i doubt he'll be one of them.

I wouldn't write-off Harry's death: when she first devised the plot she didn't envisage it as a children's story: it was Bloomsbury who marketed it as such.

indeedee: and if she's decided to do something, she'll go through with it!

Catwoman Posted Dec 27, 2002
Oh, it's one of THOSE (children's book that is not necessarily written for children).
Nope, he won't die. It has to be a happy ending.
The Future....
The Rogue aka Phoniex Posted Dec 29, 2002

Catwoman Posted Dec 29, 2002
I can see that people's names have been affected, I am however not going to change the subject, I am not tempted to discuss other things.
Not the point. Happy endings can be found in books for all ages. And this series will have a happyish ending.

Happy wrt Harry, but since people he cared about are dead not a perfect 'happy ending'.
